General question about Worst

You see all this talk about armies,wars,leaders etc. but they never mention what exactly are they battling about. Are the guys in Suzuran,Ridow,Housen etc. like gang members (yakuza) dealing drugs and weapons or something? Why would someone want to rule all freshmen? What will Amachi do if he has control over the whole city? What's the whole fuss about???

I'm thinking it's like a bad school. Some gangs some aren't but overall it's about turf and control. Think about it. Hana probably loves fighting but wants to unite the school as a whole. Maybe lower the amount of violence. As of what else comes? idk.
