| So since you guys say this start is the ending of the manga,i can safely assume that the "good" espers are gonna get some kind of "hate" from the society,and then they return to save the day batman the dark knight returns style. Oh dear,not sure about that move! Ive not read the manga. |

| Okay so two things I'm not quite clear on. Are these references to Gai Rei Zero just references or does this legitimately take place in the same universe and everything? If so where in the time line is it? Second do I need to have seen Gai Rei Zero for the actual show or is it just something that would allow you to better appreciate the references made? Because I have not seen Gai Rei Zero. |

| I was literally so confused at the start of the show seeing kagura and yomi... didn't realize the mangaka was the same, brings back a lot of bittersweet memories of Ga-Rei.... Promising start though. Also... for being called the white girl so much, how come her hair isnt white in the anime? Or was it just my monitor? lol |

| I remember reading some of Tokyo Esp a few years ago and stopping right when all this stuff started happening so i felt kinda spoiled with everyone referring to her as the "savior", still this felt more like Ga-Rei Zero (with that nice cameo of the sisters) and same art until the red hair girl showed up forgot her name but shes the only one i actually knew lol. The Real Tokyo ESP starts next week! :P |

| episode with plenty of action and mystery, very good to begin reminding the universe of Ga-Rei Zero and its protagonists, the focus is different but it seems to me that the animation will also be very good I'm already looking forward to next episode |

| Finally, the Tokyo Trio is complete! “Ghouls with ESP spread Terror in Tokyo!!” XD Anyway, it’s interesting to note that Tokyo ESP’s first episode was like a Mythology Gag (trope!) from the first episode of Ga-Rei: Zero. Complete with cameos of Yomi and Kagura, which means the series also runs in the same universe as Ga-Rei. Not only that, they also started the first episode in medias res (trope!) just like in Ga-Rei: Zero! It’s rather average for a first episode, especially since we’re not properly introduced to the characters and instead we’re being shown off their powers, but that in itself is interesting as we can see action right off the bat, and in fact it’s one of the most action-packed 1st episodes I’ve seen this season. Keep it coming Tokyo ESP! |

| Wasn't expecting it to be this full on early in the series. Felt a bit lost though with minimal depth on the situation. Enjoyed the ost and the White Girl's introduction to the episode. |

| HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!! I love this show already. At first I wasn't gonna pick it up but after the PV I was like Yes! I got so excited when I saw all the Ga-Rei themes too! This just looks overall awesome. Hopefully it doesn't fuck up completely like Ga-Rei. |

I was fangirl'ing so hard omg O__O It's so good to see one of my favorite OTPs again even though it's just a cameo. *breathes out* After reading the other comments on this thread, this is actually the end part? I'm not sure this is a good idea. I mean if they're trying to borrow a page from then, in my opinion, they failed. Seeing this episode, I assume the world isn't exactly welcoming of espers. A group of bad espers grow discontent, cause trouble and then the good espers come in to save the world. X-men? Please don't go down the Hamatora route. What's up with the cheap looking enemy costumes? Come on, I'm sure the character designer can do better than that :S Well, this is from the same mangaka that created GRZ so I'm sure the story is good. I just hope they don't mess up (further) with the adaptation. I'm looking at you Xebec. |

| Wow that was pretty intense. Esper powers aside, that was the amount of chaos I was kind of expecting from Zankyou no Terror, so if TESP keeps this kind of stuff going, it might overtake Zankyou. All the powers and stuff were really cool. Sword girl was by far the most badass. Almost looked like grown up Kohina from Black Bullet lol. Faylan song at the end, fucking amazing. Cant wait to see the OP video for it. EDIT: whoops turns out that was actually the ED theme by Yousei Teikoku. |

| Well that was ... unexpected, lol. The description made it sound like a goofy, surreal show with a bit of slice of life mixed with superpowers. Instead of we get all-out war with the Espers ripping the National Diet out of the ground and planning to do a Colony Drop with it. We've seen the random fish wandering through the middle of the city, but nobody's followed them to the top of Tokyo Tower and gotten powers yet, instead all the Espers we meet have been doing their thing for awhile. Some really good action and animation, and even without watching the show this one apparently references it's definitely enjoyable. Wondering if it's going to get more surreal next episode or if it's going to continue with this intense atmosphere. Either way, I'm sold! |
