| Let me make 2 comparisons I thought of here. 1. Let's say there's a high school for race drivers. They have a competition where the rule is they make their own cars. All other schools have high school mechanics tunning them, 1st high school has formula 1 veteran mechanic tuning and making theirs. 2. 1st magic school is a bunch of crime lords lawyers. "Sir, what he did there is a crime (cheating)" "Oh, but it is not, for you see, it is not written as forbidden." 1st school is blatantly abusing lack of proper rules to cheat. I don't care if it is allowed or some think it is thinking outside of box, it is not, it is cheating. Shooting contest where shooter is not shooting, instead using "explosive zone". Racing contest where interfering with opponent is not allowed but interfering with water is...they use AOE spell which even blinded the frackin crowd. How is that NOT interfering with opponent? And bookies are villains? For all the crap I gave 1st arc at least it had some points worth discussing. Are weeds getting unfair treatment? Is school system broken? How do people who can't use magic live compared to those who can? Many questions, lots of dillemas. 1st arc was flawed at many points, most noticable being retarded and completely unprepared enemies... and they were presented as super dangerous. 2nd arc so far had good start, with suicide bomber almost killing panicking students...and that's it. After that it had an episode filled with literaly nothing, an episode of 1st highschool cheati...I mean, masterfully planing and wining their competitions and bookies scared of their boss as enemy... God I hope this gets better later. |
| The dialogue in Mahouka is absolutely disgraceful. It's like robots trying to interact with each other. Robots who have no knowledge on how an ordinary school student would speak. |

| It's really not being rushed in my opinion. These are fast events with or without Tatsuya's help. Destroy ice blocks, use fire spell, use ice spell, break ice, win. The waterboarding is basically sprinting, and sprinting events end very quickly as well. Shoot the targets in the air, they get fired, you shoot how many you can, winner has the most points. It's not like there is a magically volleyball game here. Third High is up to something Those Sketchy business men are up to something and Tatsuya is building up enough power to overthrow his entire family. These three things are what really matters for future episodes. |

| Wow Morisaki is still going on with this discrimination thing. Just get it over it then, and be friends with Tatsuya... Anyways, the episode, as always was rushed throughout, and the games were pretty short. I wished they should expand the game times, and give the characters some development in here. It was my anticipated series when I first heard the anime announcement but guess I was wrong for this. Well at least they are winning, but the epilogue looked intense though for next episode. |
| Shizuku was amazing on this episode, she looked quite cute in that dress. Looks like Tatsuya is getting quite popular, but he is getting some enemies as well. |

| I can feel Morisaki's pain. Even though the whole Bloom thingy is now completely irrelevant, he's right to feel hurt in his pride when the girls basically just won thanks to Tatsuya being a walking cheat machine. Gotta admit that the lack of specific rules regarding the games and CADs makes up for a totally broken system where the skills of the competitors become irrelevant. There again it's Tatsuya that gets wanked for his abilities, not the athletes. Which is, given the fact that it's sports competition, jarring to say the least. I have no idea why standard CADs calibrated the same for everyone aren't made available : that would greatly reduce the chances of "technical cheating" (e.g. Shizuku and the speedshooting hax CAD). I don't even understand why Honoka would cry about finally being able to win something when she had 0 part to play in her own victory. Of course we wouldn't get to see the guys' competition, since the author clearly despises every male that isn't Tatsuya. It's actually pretty sad to see men being so irrelevant and women relegated to the status of mere cocksuckers. And not even a bit of tension in any of these matches: the lack of info-dump was welcome and somewhat made the events more enjoyable to watch, but there's only so much of First High plowing through that I can bear without getting a little tired of it. Gotta admit tho, I laughed at the Pillar Break competition : those cosplays straight outta nowhere were fun. Still very dry and lifeless dialogues. Where's Erika at when you need her? tl;dr Mahouka being Mahouka. PS: The VA for this show really can't be more out of place for some characters. Suzaku's voice is way too Tatsuya-like. |

Jirachier said: @Sapewloth There are rules for CADs actually, all the athletes have to use specific models and such so that the fact that you're rich and can get the best equipments doesn't impact the matches, the difference is in the software installed on these CADs, that is where Tatsuya haxes everybody. You can't just hand out CADs to the competitors and tell them to use them right away without someone tuning them specifically for them and also installing their spells on it, that has to be done by an engineer, it's not that the rules are bad, it's just that Tatsuya is the ONLY exception to the rule since he is the best magic engineer in the world and so of course high school technicians cannot even hope to compete with his skills. It's like if you took the best soccer player in the world and made him play against a team of little kids, of course he will crush them, the rules of the games aren't wrong. Difference is even the best player in the world can't do much against an entire team if he's the only one on the field. Football is a team sports before anything else and while individual skills certainly matter, team work is just as much important if not more. Here the rules allow any very gifted engineer to make his entire school win the competition without breaking a sweat. Even if Tatsuya is the only exception this year cause he's top-tier world class engineer, the same problem may arise every other year when a very talented student appears and comes up with haxx softwares. Heck schools could even buy a world-class engineer and register him as a student just so they could make sure to win the competition. |

| Yes, another Shizuku episode, come on! Slightly better than the last episode, which I enjoyed. Next episode should be fun to see, if they don't cut a certain scene. Nice to see more information about the Yotsuba family there, especially about Maya. Erika should return in the next episode, so good news for everyone who missed her already. |
| Meh episode. Felt slow and rushed but then again nothing really happened so I'm glad it got rushed if it did. Next episode actually looks like it will be okay. Here's hoping it won't be crap. |

Back to mahouka, no the same thing can't be done every year, you have to realize that Tatsuya's skills is something that is leagues ahead of even genius adults, He created the loop cast system and even solved one of the 3 greatest puzzles in weight systematic magic not to mention the invention of other things, these are extraordinary achievements that teams of world class engineers couldn't accomplish and he did that, you could say he's a talent that appears once in a millennium so really, the rules aren't at fault here, he's an anomaly. Yeah, my point about football was probably not the best one, I'll give you that. I do realize that Tatsuya is an anomaly, tho (and I still wonder why he accepted to participate, since he must be perfectly aware that he would break the competition with his skills). But you don't have to be the best in the world to be clearly above the crowd: just because you aren't Tatsuya-tier doesn't mean you have to be a random peasant. There is a middle ground (there has to be), and like I said earlier, a very talented tech team member (or entire tech team) can push its school to victory by having better CAD softwares than the norm (again, without necessarily being Tatsuya-level) if we go by the 9SC's rules. |

| Disappointed felt like i just watched the exact same episode as last week was just a ton of people praising Tatsuya then very short matches with nothing really being explained and Miyuki sneaking into his room being overly dramatic. and worst part of it all for me when i actually thought that one girl was gonna get some character development with some backstory it turns out it was just her admiring Tatsuya :/ |

Especially if he's trying to win the affection of Miyuki...wouldn't one normally try to get on the brother's good side to get closer to her? It's like trying to date a girl, only to insult and spit in her parent's face. Hope this piece of shit gets his ass handed to him on a silver platter. |
