Kesler is awesome. Would have liked to have seen Reinhard get into a scuffle though.

OMG this ep was filled with lol moments. I love the old man now honestly, he's awesome. And he's not afraid of diabetes...I mean, five lumps of sugar in one cup of tea hehe. Kesler's as amazing as ever.
"...our faces marked by toil, by deceptions, by success, by love; our weary eyes looking still, looking always, looking anxiously for something out of life, that while it is expected is already gone – has passed unseen, in a sigh, in a flash – together with the youth, with the strength, with the romance of illusions.” - Joseph Conrad ('Youth')

I loved how much sugar he put into his tea. That gave me a good late night laugh. Excellent episode, nonetheless.

Grim is old, how can he not get dizzy rocking like that from the chair?

Grimmelshausen reall si great.
I also loled at the Kaiser yawning while sitting in his throne ^^.

And I have to agree that Kesler is awesome and stood up to Reinhard and Luneberg.
I probably regret this post by now.

Grimmelshausen is so made of win. Seeing Kesler was pretty awesome, can't help but think that he saved Reinhard's life there.

No retainer? No bodyguard? Odin must be very peaceful indeed. But not even a car or carriage? I'm used to being thrifty in my own ways too but he's a freakin' Rear Admiral for cryin' out loud.

I didn't expect Hilda to appear but it was good. Kessler is as cool as ever, he was very diplomatic when he handled the situation so everybody can save face.

I guess he's too old to care anymore. :D Anyway it seems old 'Grimm' (sorry I can't resist) is sharper at home than on the battlefield.

I'm wondering why they didn't show Carl Mathius von Folgen's face or at least what he looked like.

Kesler once again proving why he's the man. <3
And that was the first time I got excited over Hilda's appearance.

I'm glad Kesler interfered cause I'm pretty sure Brook would've kicked Reinhard's pretty boy ass all the way to Heinessen.

Yeah, not sure what Reinhard's game plan was there . . . How did he expect to beat that dude? Anyways cool seeing Kessler, though surprised that the meeting left off with Reinhard pissed at him.

LOL. I love the way you put it. Reinhard let his anger get the better of him there.
I was expecting him to call someone for help the wife though, because I don't think he did in the end.

So the first meeting of Kesler and Reinhard was not the best (on Reinhard's part). And I never expected to see Hilda. I'm slightly surprised the narrator made it sound the way it did (fate, lol). Reinhard walking to the party was funny. Not even a taxi. That's pretty easy to ambush I'd imagine.

I would have thought a Rear admiral would have at least merited a car and a driver? In any case, Kessler really saved Reinhardt's beautiful face from being disfigured. He's a man of many merits, but there may only be a handful of people in the galaxy who could win a fistfight over Luneburg.

I feel really sorry for Luneburg's wife. He's such a nasty man to her. I don't understand why he defected just to marry her.

Kesler! Hilde!! She looks so young and carefree, it almost makes me wistful.

Old man Grim is certainly revealing himself to be far shrewder than expected. Which was sorta expected?

In secret Reinhard must be grateful to Kessler for saving his ass, but it's important to look tough.

Also hilarious how the Kaiser doesn't give a fuck about military affairs.

And the scene where Baroness Westpfahl picked up Hilda could be the intro for a lesbian porn.

In Hermann von Lüneburg, Reinhard sees what he could've been if he went down a different path.

I found it amusing how Magdalena offered a ride to Hilde but not to Reinhard. Gotta love these powerful girls.

On the other hand, Luneberg is an absolute scum. I feel sorry for Elizabeth, such an unfortunate situation she's in.
