I don't really think so. Honestly, I see it being like Hanasaku Iroha, where there's more of a friendship focus than a relationship one.

Maybe the art's just misleading me to that direction, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Do you not remember the beautiful mess that was Nagi no Asukara.
I miss it ;3; glasslip doesn't seem the same, but I'm looking forward to it, what story could glass making hold.

This reminds me more of Nagi no Asukara.

I'm guessing this is more like Tari Tari/Hanasaku Iroha/with some bits of Nagi no Asukara vibes without the fantasy element. One thing that the show focuses on is dreams though so prepare for some sort of journey through adolescence.

I'm getting some Tari Tari vibes from it..except this one might focus on romance ( hope so) .

Why would you say toradora when this is PA Works?

This is the next Nagi no Asukara, which oddly enough, was better than toradora and ano natsu combined.

You probably didnt like nagi no asukara because it had actual plot and not just romance.

To me, it looks like it will be more like Nagi no Asukara but with more focus on the romantic/dramatic aspect of the story.
The anime industry is dead, the otaku fanbase killed it.

What did nagi focus on then?

Baffling how people say nagi didn't have romance just because it didn't have 100 percent confirmed pairings at the end.

Kiko never stated that it didn't focus on romance and drama, and definitely didn't say it didn't have romance. More focus. That implies that it did focus on those aspects, but not as much as kiko wanted it to.

The assumptions..why are you doing this.

Nagi had more focus on the family aspect and problems between different parties(sea people/people of the land) than romance but there was very obviously romance focus in Nagi just not as much. I guess because they were very young compared to the Characters of Glasslip(They were like 14? Glasslip's characters look older more like 16-18)

I'm not expecting it to be anything like Nagi no Asukara. I love that there will be romance in it though. And if it's a pentagon/shape/whatever I'll love it still.

However it goes, it looks absolutely beautiful, and I can't wait to see what this show will be like.

The preview IMO has the same feel and a little bit of the atmosphere from Hanasaku Iroha and the messed up drama of Nagi no Asukara., Also has some Seiyuu from NagiAsu ._.

"On the other side of the glass, you can see tomorrow."

This sounds so deep that I wanna doubt you, but probably yes. I see it as a fusion of Nagi no Asukara and the titles you mentioned, mixed with Tari Tari and Hanasaku Iroha.

Since no Okada, more like Tari Tari hopefully with romance this time.
And pairs are clear from preview MC+Transfer student, Handband guy + Glasses girl, Ribbon + her step brother.

Definitely looks exactly like NagiAsu with the random other person who's not in the group hated by everyone except the main female character. I'm guessing at the end he'll be accepted just like NagiAsu. Hopefully the love polygon gets developed well.

there's no romance/ drama tag
though....... i can't help but think of NagiAsu just from episode 1. The triangle is pretty obvious and the outsider that shakes up everything.

Description from WAO:

Touko Fukami's family runs a glass-working business in a small seaside town. She hangs out with her four best friends at a cafe called "Kazemichi". During the summer break of their senior year in high school, they meet a transfer student named Kakeru Okikura, who claims that a voice from the future talks to him, and that it's led him to Touko. His arrival sets off a series of events that will make their final summer together one full of hope and heartache.

Hrm... Heartache........ Sounds like NagiAsu to me :P

Oh, for the record, Nagi focused mostly on adolescence and the changes that you go through emotionally and socially growing up. They topped it off with some fantasy (i.e. stupid time freeze hibernation) to make the aspect of relationship changes (growing up vs staying the same) more prominent.

Given that description, I wouldn't put it past them to do another Nagi, but with just 13 episodes, I have my doubts because they won't have enough time for it. Whatever the case, since the art is PA Works, regardless of whether or not this is an entirely different genre to Nagi, you'll all be reminded of it anyways.

Personally, I'm hoping for more drama, but less on the romance side. I have an honest to god interest in glass work.

If anything, Glasslip at least feels like the anime of the season. This is probably going to be the most talked-about anime for Summer 2014, for good or bad. Maybe the plot gets really good. Or maybe it takes a huge-ass nosedive.

This show looks like Tamako Market to me.

Also, Akame Ga Kill or Aldnoah.Rape will probably be the most talked about shows of the season on Mal.

Edited to add

NagiAsu's art was done by Buriki who is a mother fucking genius.

The beauty of that show was 100 percent buriki. PA works just colored the backgrounds.

You're right there are no romance/drama tags. That doesn't seem right. How accurate are these MAL tags anyway?

Looking at the producers and the first episode, I'd say drama is pretty much guaranteed. There might even be some kind of supernatural aspect as well based on the vision Touko saw.

Most talked about? lmao. I think someone somehow missed that Free! and Tokyo Ghoul are on this season. Even if it does reach a "popularity" level of NagiAsu (which didn't strike me as particularly popular in the first place, so much as just people shouting about ship wars and who is "best girl"), that also wasn't the most talked about anime when it aired...
