I believe it originated on 4chan, when people who were new to the site would ask for anime recommendations, despite there being many threads asking the same thing before. They would get recommended this anime that many people would find shocking. I myself have spent quite a bit of time on 4chan, and I can tell that quite a few people on this site have as well.

I was having a conversation with a Korean guy the other day and he wouldn't shut up about how Japanese porn especially hentai was the best kind of porn in existence.

Nudity and sex in the moving pictures can be beautiful, when it isn't just something made in hollywood films to draw the viewer's attention. And porn's sole purpose is for doing that and that only.

I respect your opinion, however porn is for people who wish to relieve their stress through the release of sexual tension and it works quite well, and not everyone can control their dreams.

Also let's be real no one watches porn for the story if you go into a film that's labeled as porn, there's usually no story as there are more scenes for fapping.

And finally not everything noted as hentai is necessarily horse shit in terms of story take A Kite as an example.

I agree BnP is a great masterpiece in all seriousness without any sarcasm at all unlike other posts over here who have recommended it me it in pure sarcasm. I absolutely love this anime, it breaks many stereotypes and generalizations and it shows that not all adults are child-molesters just because they are having sexual activities with children and that most children agree on doing those things, other than being taboo in the society, I see no absolute thing about it being "horrible". If I weren't so scared about being labeled as a pedophile I would have been a supporter of this sexual desire, which I believe is why most people are being very closed about this subject, because much like me they would not stand out and support something this 'taboo', I think it is much similar when in the anime 'Death Note' people would not support 'Kira' and call him for a 'cold-blooded murder', but when they were behind closed walls and could speak up their true opinion to their closest without being looked down at. I am very sure 30 years from now we would get many debates about whether or not pedophilia should be legalized to get married in churches and such and that when those people look at the comments about peoples' opinion about Pedophilia from let's say now on with the 'Wayback machine' they would laugh at how we all are 'pedophobes', that could very be since todays children and world have changed so drastically from the previously. Incest, bestiality have both being considered as mental conditions, but now are already slowly getting socially acceptable, though not in conversations, I still said 'slowly getting'.

Either way this anime is a 9/10 very close to a 10 if the sex-scenes and nudity were left out and just seen as a normal anime, but considering this is a hentai, I can let that pass. Very sophistical and very underrated, but that is caused by the illiterate 'porn-slackers' who thought they were getting a porn 'with tentacles' that doesn't deliver anything else but nudity and sexual scenes just to make the viewer look at the screen as a rat playing with his private parts instead of a person trying to use his useless mind to understand and resolve the message it was trying to spread out, nowadays if something requires a little thinking they would get a headache, I'm not joking.

I hope I aren't getting arrested for speaking my unpopular opinion...

To be perfectly honest, I've seen worse both in terms of plot and "scenes".

I think it's the shock value, especially on people new to anime and hentai that make it an amusing recommendation from the people a bit more versed in the medium.

Mars of Destruction gets the same treatment as a recommendation for anyone asking for a "good" anime to watch.
