This show is getting on my nerves. The personality of the characters is so bland and predictable. Tatsuya's cool tough guy mono-tone voice got old before Hei in darker than black used it. And not to mention Miyuki's cringe-worthy annoying voice ... I can't even count how many times she said "oni-sama" in this episode! Makes me look away from the screen in embarassment.

He has the ability to read the edios much more than other magician due to his speical ability so I think elemental sight come form that. Not sure if its a thing only he can do or its just really hard to do.

Finally this Enrollment arc is over. That was dragging on FOREVER.
Almost missed that bit at the end, after the ED. Hate it when shows do that.
These past few episodes seemed pretty rushed, I hope that the story will really pick up in this next arc.
Also, I heard that the Light Novel series was REALLY good, so I'm hoping for a Kill la Kill-esque plot twist that turns the whole series on its head. But until then, this show is just above OK for me.

The only reason I'm still watching this is because it supposedly gets "Epic as shit". I'm hoping it does, but who knows. Same thing happened with Medaka Box, I kept watching it because its fans made out that it gets really good, and it ended up being as crappy as ever.

He has the ability to read the eidos much more than other magician due to his special ability so I think elemental sight come form that. Not sure if its a thing only he can do or its just really hard to do.

Well i keep using spoiler tags because Tatsuya's abilities hasn't been given a name yet in the anime or did i miss that somehow? Tatsuya's ability is on a whole different level than what normal magicians ca do. Anyways looking forward to the 9SC, hope they don't rush it too much.

Can we make up a game to count all the times Miyuki says, "Onii-sama!" throughout the episode? I thank the translators at Baka-Tsuki for omitting all that...unless Madhouse is intentionally adding it all in...

A little manservice shown with introducing Masaki rather early. And George...looks and sounds WAAAAY different than what I imagined... He's got the appearance of a pansy.

Yeah but Masaki is the first opponent that was shown to give some good fights to Tatsuya in the story whether he was handicapped or not. I for one, would like to see a real, long fight animated in the anime instead of a short time slaughter we've been getting so far... So, Masaki's fight is the one thing I'm looking forward to until Yokohama which is animated near the end of the season.

hmm.. i was worried that the complicated explanation of how Magic works would throw people off... but looks like it didn't :D (i'm looked at the poll votes)

i'm liking all the characters so far. them military children... so kewl. very good animation. this arc was lovely.

i think my favorite thing about this anime is the world. they explain the many ways to use magic in a way that it makes it seem pretty realistic. the only problem is that the magic is suppose to be natural but looks all digitized. i guess i could just chalk that up to those Magic adapters they use.

I think all of that "blood" was actually red paint from paintballs that were in the room. At 22:30, you can see some black clothes which were most likely those paintballs. The loud sound earlier also sounded like combusted paintballs. As everyone said, he can explode anything that contained liquid by evaporating them etc...

I think it's better to show her early on even for a bit instead if waiting for Vol 8 which most likely won't be in this season just to give more mystery vibe to the story and making her character more relevant to the story since she's pretty much involved in every volume past Vol 8.

That Night magic though, I'll bet anime-only viewers won't even suspect of anything in that scene and may just think of it for some light reflection :P

Yeah, that sort of is the problem. We really don't know. If they were only paint balls, then why was that scene supposed to be kick ass?

But to be honest what really annoyed me was that the animators wanted us to think that it was blood, screw that, if the guy is supposed to be a kick ass warrior show us. Don't give us a guy shooting paint balls, making an allusion to blood on his face, and then pretend he did something awesome. We just watched Leo cut somone's arm off, in comparison new guy sucks.

show it on what that was just a training exercise to introduce his character and title that was all u wont even see him again properly until like episode 11 or 12 so what is the point in suspension or build up if u got that suspension and nothing happen for 4 episode and it was not leo who cut the guys arm off it was kirihara

Like I really care. I mean seriously, they are interchangeable. Another problem with this animation. All the characters shown in the animation outside of Erika are boring characters (and even she is a cliche, only interesting in comparison with the dull characters around her).

We are two months into this show, and now you are telling me that we have another month to go before Mr. Paint Ball will provide Tatsuya a challenge? It really makes me have to ask the fans, how the hell did you get through 3-4 novels of absolutely nothing in order to get to the "good parts". I have seen people talking about how you really need to get to volume 8 before it starts making any sense. I am all for patience, but there comes a time when it is no long patience but actually a form of self abuse.

A couple of studies have shown that people will rate a longer novel better than a shorter novel based solely on the fact that they finished the long novel and want to think there was some accomplishment in doing it. I am starting to get the feeling that the fans of this series are actually masochists. They have invested so much time and energy into this series that they HAVE to believe that it is good. The more volumes they read the more they have to believe. Maybe if I sat down and read the novels I would think otherwise, but

the name doesnt really matter to me actually but i was just pointing it out with no deep meaning behind it and u want to ask why we read it because that was not at all what we care for there are different interesting part in volume 3-4 he was just some guy to us unlike what the anime show him to be but he was just the first guy to damage tatsuya that was all too me anyway and u dont need to read to volume 8 that was just to reveal everything miyuki and tatsuya about their relationship and the only patience is volume 1 and 2 just like u saw it was very very bad wasnt it and i am not gonna say the next arc is gonna change your opinion because i am tire of people saying it is bad i wont deny that it wasnt super amazing but they did fine job at it

Calling the fans masochists now are we? Read it first oh the superior one before making stupid assumptions. Besides aren't you guys the masochists here coming back to complain each episode like your life depended on it? Or what was the term........superiority complex right? "I can find fault in anime so i am a better anime watcher" type mentality is it?

Just to point something out, you are one who gave out more spoilers(without spoiler tags) that weren't even half-correct. You heard a few spoilers and mixed them up with your assumption. So why don't fix that problem of yours before complaining all the time. At least put correct spoilers if nothing else.

an okay episode, I guess ... the fighting scenes were not that bad, the enrollment part is finally over, the anime is very slow but I have a feeling i'll be getting better and better. I'm very curious about Tetsuya's secret, hope we won't be waiting too long to know about it T_T
