| Okay, I take back what I said about Joey, he dueled very well, if it was not a Shadow Duel he would have won. I really liked this episode, it was quite emotional. Is good to see Kaiba finally recognizing Joey as a duelist, although he had to almost die for this happen. And finally the duel that I was expecting, Kaiba vs Yugi. |

| Well, everyone just lost their shit in that episode. I guess you don't know true friends until you have a friend willing to punch you in the face for dying. I for one am glad that Joey is dead/incapacitated/whatever since we all know the best duels aren't allowed to happen until the majority of main characters are dead/toon-towned. |

| I appreciate Mokuba so much in episodes like these. Cut off the announcer guy, was the first person out on the scene, being 100% real with the gang and still trying to get help for Joey despite keeping it hush-hush from his brother. I’m relieved the animation gets extra crispy in emotional scenes like this. Those sparkles were so gentle. Joey didn’t even realize he lost, he went down thinking he won… that he fulfilled his promise with Yugi. I’m still trying to think what it meant for Ishizu to send Serenity out there. She even emphasized that what Serenity would see is painful but still should be there. Maybe she’s thinking about how she wishes she could do more for her own brother? Maybe she thinks Serenity would have regretted not going, like how she holds regrets with Marik? Hm. The sibling themes and different dynamics they have is highly engaging. Now I'm soft :( but ready for the next duel; I'm expecting a lot with Kaiba. |
| Awesome conclusion for this duel and easily the best episode so far. Joey has became an incredidble duelist on his journey and he's imo the winner in this duel. Talent and willpower he beat Marik in both. Nr.3 ftw! |

| Damn, this was a rough episode. 😭 Jonouchi was so close to winning, but he ended up in critical condition. I really feel for these characters as they were crying. It wasn't supposed to end like this! &++ just seeing a friend like that is too much. But there's still hope, there's always hope! Yuugi knows that better than anyone! |
