| OMG Definitely a 5. Rika was still great on this and lecturing the Goddess. RENA was awesome. I've always liked her a lot and this episode was great with her lol. RENA was going to take HER HOME! Overall I think a 7. Rather high for me for overall Higurashi. Definitely turned out better than others. But some things lacking/could have been longer. May rethink my overall later. Kinda sad now I am running out of this show to watch. Watched nearly everything of it by now. If not... |

| The ova was decent. 2-4 were the high point for sure,but I'm not a big fan of 1 and 5. By no means a must watch,though. |
| The OVA series was pretty decent, especially 2-4 were great while 5 was good for the laugh. 1 was just fanservice so not much to say there. But never got an answer to Satoshi and whether he ever gets out of the hospital and reunites with Satoko and Shion V.V |

| This was a cute episode with some funny moments, especially the ending lol. Overall I enjoyed this OVA series, episodes 2-4 were really good and definitely the best, while 5 was a cute episode to end it on. Could have done without the first episode since it was just unneeded fanservice imo. 8/10 Now its time for me to go and try to find some more of Higurashi to watch @_@. |

| I really liked the comedy episodes. The serious episodes were good and I liked how they dealt with the inner struggle Rika had to face between choosing worlds. Solid 5 episode OVA. I would want to call Takano 'onee-sama' too, if I had the same powers. |
| This last episode felt kinda random, even more random than the 1st one. It was a good Rena based fan service episode, her and Rika have always seemed to be the most popular so it makes sense~ Overall I really liked Rei! I gave it a 9/10 |

| Many people will have missed that this episode and the very first episode of Higurashi S1 are linked. In Rena's final moments as she's being beaten to death by Kei's/Satoshi's baseball bat she tries to tell Keiichi 'I love you' to try and snap him out of his delusion. She dies realizing that she's in love with him, and wishes that she would've been able to tell him that fact before Kei went crazy. Having her say it now in the final episode represents the series' long journey from the very first scene (and the very worst Bad End) to this very happy ending being the final scene of Higurashi. Brilliant. It's sad that a lot of people on this forum can't see the beauty of it and would rather see more mindless bloodshed. |

| Need to rewatch the whole series again. I'm usually not a fan of Higurashi's comedy, but this episode was so funny. Also I forgot how much I liked Takano's voice. |

| That was actually really funny, much much better than the other joke OVA. Overall this was a little better than I expected. Still have no idea why they started the series with that terrible first episode, but whatevs. 6/10 |

| Well I guess the 3 middle episodes was okay but the first and last are realky out of place, concerning the dice killing arc I enjoyed it, I hope they can show more scary scenes. Overall it was fun and a weaker one, it would be better if they put it on the end of Kai. |

| Another one episode story, those are alright I guess. Ended the same way it began with a potentially great story between which was kinda underwhelming though. |

| These last ova episode, ironically, became Rena's central of silliness dedication episode. Quite similar with the plot of the first episode, a love themed propaganda, but slightly better because Rena as a main role. The episode, Its using Furude shrine legendary items as a tool to created a dedicated relations among Rena and her surrounding. Its really silly, still, Rena cuteness was over the top at this episode. She was looking so fresh with that newly brand of spoiled and flirtatious behavior, especially with that underrated confession xd. But, using Tomitake and more likely, Oishi-san too? as an object for Rena partners, kinda make me cringe a lot. What the hell? xd. Yuri bait at Higurashi was ridiculous attempt too. Never expected the person like Miyo to get that kind of personality at the end of the episode. Its really ridiculously insane xd. Okay, time to give a score. Well, it doesn't matter. I am still enjoying the serious arc at the middle of OVA, while the opening and ending chapters looked full of dumbness. Lmao. 8/10 for this one. |

| Okay, I'm doubling down on what I said after episode 1 - these OVAs are great. The middle arc was really interesting and gave a bunch of additional lore, plus we got to know Rika's mom a little, which was very cool. Also to be honest watching Rika kick the shit out of Satoko was cathartic for me, having watched Gou first. Episodes 1 and 5 were both hilarious. I can't believe that any Higurashi fan wouldn't be doubled over in laughter with all the inside jokes, I see again that some people just take shit wayyyyyy too seriously. 9/10 and yet another affirmation to ignore criticism until you have a chance to judge for yourself. This was way better than I expected. |

| I read the manga first and plan on reading the source material visual novel of this chapter as a fan to compare the differences, even though I don't "love" this parodic chapter. Rena falling in love with Tomitake and Ooishi is a little uncomforting, and Tomitake and Takano arguably lusting over her in the end is also weird. 'Gotta admit I enjoyed the anime moreso than the manga from experiencing Rena's various dynamic emotions in animation/voice, with her outbursts of "Liar", being loving or beating anyone in her way which was all very entertaining and hilarious. The message of showing how love can bring someone to adapt to the other's interests is nice, along with the hint that Rena likes Keiichi, but... I would much prefer and hope that Ryukishi07 creates two seperate love chapters of a Mion route, and a Rena route. I personally support Mion over Rena since her love is much stronger and obvious than Rena's overall in the source material, and also because I'm a sucker for heroines with an unrequited love. Nonetheless, this was enjoyable. 6/10. |

| This being another fanservice episode, I think I liked it more than the first one, Rena clinging to all the most unlikely characters for her because of those charms was really funny, some peak Rena content for sure. I especially loved the Takano bit, I didn’t expect it in the slightest and it was wasn’t just good yuri fanservice but also great comedically, and the reference to “Maria-sama Ga Miteru” was icing on the cake, I just finished that series this year and here I find an amazing callback lol, it makes sense giving the same studio and Takano has the same VA as Sachiko. The mahjong bit with Oishi was good too, but I didn’t find it quite as good, maybe because I don’t understand mahjong lol. And that final bit where Rena confessed to Keichi, somehow I feel that wasn’t just the charm talking. And then Rena has to deal with the hearts she toyed with in Tomitake and Takano at the end lol. Overall I really enjoyed this OVA series, the main arc from episodes 2-4 was really good, adds just a little bit extra spice beyond the main story, and I found episodes 1 and 5 to be great comedic episodes with some quality fanservice to go with it, I know some won’t like them because it’s completely different from what Higurashi is but it does help give you an idea of what a world where these characters aren’t in a horror story would be like, I know there’s also Kira which I haven’t watched yet for that as well. That OP and ED are also great too, a shame they’re only used for 5 episodes but they slap for sure. But yeah, definitely enjoyed this little romp, I look forward to Outbreak and Kira for whenever I decide to watch them. |
| Higurashi Rei, just like Higurashi season 2, was meh and forgettable. And Higurashi Rei was also pointless. The only memorable moment of this 5 episodes Rei was the beating of the blonde girl with the chair by the bluehair girl. |
