What the fack happened to the second volume? Wasn't it supposed to come out, like, a year ago? Or are they never gonna release the second one? Tokyopop is the worst at releasing light novels. Seriously.

I was searching for this too and on Archonia.com(manga/anime webshop) I saw that the release of volume 2 was planned for 31-12-09 and volume 3 for 13-03-2011.

I will buy them ASAP (most of the retailers are out-of-stock :x) and like shakugan no shana, will probably never have the rest. :x

I e-mailed (info@tokyopop.com) myself to ask as its been ages heh and I rather enjoyed the 2 novels ive read.. and with an anime being out.. and with my general frustration with novel licensing and generally nothing being done with said licenses.

Here is the reply I got from Tokyopop

Thanks for your question!

I don’t believe we currently have plans to continue the series, given both the cost of doing novels and the poor sales performance of the first two volumes. It’s a shame, since now with the anime series coming out, it seems like sales might pick up, but that’s the kind of problem you run into in publishing sometimes. Your interest has been noted, though, and I’ll be keeping an eye on other requests to see if at least doing a reprint of the existing material would make sense, and then maybe based on the performance of the reprint, we could consider moving forward, but to be honest, that’s fairly unlikely at this stage of the game.

However, we only tend to license a couple volumes at a time, so there isn’t really anything stopping another company from continuing the series if they choose to do so. The likelihood of that is also fairly slim, but you never know, I suppose!

Anyway, thanks for your interest and support, and I’m sorry that I don’t have better news for you!

Sincerely,

~Lillian

E-mail them.. see if it makes a difference

Heh that's why i don't buy them until all the volumes of the series is out. Or else I would just be left hanging with lots of incomplete series from Tokyopop.

Was luckily able to get my hands on volume 1 last week. The book just arrivied today, and I love it so far. The writing is... strange, if I can call it that, but the dialouge is still as good as the anime adaptation.

Volume 1 completed.
Volume 2 on my bedside table.
I'm in for a nice read, probably.
Protip: I don't really check the forums anymore, so if you want something, take it on my profile.
Is it time for my long-awaited return to the forums? щ(゚Д゚щ) Nope™, probably not.

So does that mean the 3rd volume will never come out??
Because some sites say it was released a few years ago but I know that's not true. And yet I've been waiting as up until now Amazon has been saying the 3rd novel release date is the 6th December! >.< :'( And yet now it says they don't know if they'll ever get it...
Does anyone have any news at all?
