This was an incredibly well done episode.

People ask, why didnt Yuu kill Amamiya? He isnt strong enough period...amamiya, as much as we hate him, knows Yuu better than he knows himself. He absolutely owned him in that talk they had on the bridge. He nailed all his weaknesses and proved to him that if he cant move on from his dead sister (aka, throw away the watch), there is not a chance in hell he can protect Yuuko.

Yuuko returning to Amamiya was pathetic and sad, but expected. Until Yuu is strong enough to be his own man, she wont be able to cling onto him.

I cant blame yuuko for being that way either, she is a victim of abandonment and abuse. It is a rare occurrence to see anyone become independent after that kinda treatment.

Kuze's asshole lines at the end were expected as well. He is insecure and is projecting his fears onto even his closest friends. He thinks that being alone is the best route to take. But deep inside..he knows he wants to live and be with them (and mizuki). He is a coward and a little bitch. I hope he gets his shit together.

Amamiya-sensei - i don't like him in the beginning for understandable reasons, but he's turning out to be such a great antagonist. I almost start admiring the bastard. Yuu being spineless doesn't help at all too.

How can these character be annoying fucks and at the same time be lacking presence on this level? Some over-dramatic shit which doesn't deliver a one bit. Nice OP, otherwise nothing likeable. Pace was good, though.

Why does Himura keep listening to reasoning from mentally ill people? "You should have died with your sister"? Seriously?

Yuko behavior doesn't seem to follow from what we learned in episode 6. She seemed quite sick with hatred but here she's willing to play house.

They cannot rent a hotel room, but they can rent an apartment room?!!
If life was this easy, I would have run away from home when I was at their age...

This series is being more and more illogical with every episode by their over dosed drama.
After watching SHİT like this, I understand how precious Clannad After Story was.

Nice elope story but damn that ending why did she decided to go back with him? And what will he do now anyway? The ending after the ED was really needed to watch holds some nice scenes that completes the previous one!

Great story but such a sad one!

Kuze is seriously going insane, it's obvious that he wants things but he is in complete denial.
Yuu is just a bitch for not checking if something happened to Yuuko.
Another cliffhanger, I can't wait for more.

Are you shitting me right now? Not only was Amamiya able to find them in some random town in the country but also Yuu is stupid enough to let his words get to him and Yuuko decides to go back with Amamiya because that's obviously the best thing to do ಠ_ಠ

I know Yuu is traumatized and all, but damn man get your shit together already! Running away is what cowards do and you sir chose to run away from the problem (even if you tell yourself that you doing it for the girl, you're still running away!). This brings us to the conclusion that Yuu is a weak minded, pathetic, self-pitying little baby which is a perfect target for an experienced troll like Amamiya to play with. Shameful...

That was breathtaking. The first part was just... awwws. It was so sweet it got me grinning like an idiot. The second part succeeded in running the point home while also overflowing with more existential philosophical questions that could be posed just as much to to a general audience as they were to particular character.

I've noticed people here groaning about Yuuko, but I think they missed that Yuuko was under the interpretation Yuu "ran away" again; as in, he was never coming back. The scenes regarding him surrounding that strongly imply that was his intention as well, but for some reason I didn't catch he changed his mind and came rushing back. In any case, it's entirely fair for her to return home to her abusive brother considering her deeply rooted fear of abandonment.

I also personally feel Kuze's "asshole lines" at the end were entirely justified and frankly things that needed said. Sometimes a guy needs to play the villain in order to expose the truth, you know...? And sometimes it takes breaking through the mental barricades that restrict expression of free thought for the sake of socially correct courtesy. And sometimes you have to be approaching death and go off your friggin rocker before you have the courage to destroy those barricades.

In short, excellent, very well directed episode. This last string of episodes have been perhaps the best of either series. not that I can remember Memories much anyway...

Yuu and Yuuko's moments together were so cute!
I kinda don't like Kuze much, he is being cruel with everyone...it's kinda obvious that Yuuko is dead, since she show ups from nowhere, but it's doesn't change the fact that it's sad...

So I'm guessing that the end of the first season where Yuu meets Yuuko hasn't happened yet? Perhaps they skipped forward in time, and that's how the series will end. Either way, we can tell that the past story isn't going to end very happily. Perhaps with her asking him to wait for her at the church.

As for people saying Yuuko is stupid for going back to her abusive brother and Kuze being a jerk, I disagree. In an abusive relationship, the victim sometimes thinks there is no way to escape. Not to mention that Yuu didn't come home that night and the watch was gone. I also would have interpreted that as Yuu having abandoned her, had I not known the truth. As for Kuze, he's dying. He hasn't been able to really live. The woman he's always loved is in love with someone else, and he's in an extremely fragile emotional state. Not to mention it feels like he's all alone, not even the words of his friends being of any comfort. While I agree that his words were unnecessary, they were also justifiable, to an extent. I don't think that makes him a jerk.

Nagi's suddenly nice to Mizuki, so I don't know what's up with that. I can't tell if Kuze loves Mizuki or not, though I'm leaning towards "yes." Ending the episode with the red thread of fate was a nice touch as well.

I'm guessing he series will end with Mizuki and Kuze reconciling, followed by Kuze dying. The power of love might have been enough in the first season, but I don't know if it can beat death.

I actually don't think she's dead.

I swear to god this shit. Yuu is fucking pathetic. omfg, u dont just walk around the town for a few hours or so then come back to the house to find she is gone when there is a Shinji (fate) in ur town especially when she told u to never be late. Of course she would walk around, its not like she new her "onii-chan" was in that town. She thought it was safe, my god Yuu is just REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Yikes, the Yuuko-Himura story has exponentially crashed after the last two episodes. What a complete illogical disaster of actions being taken. Not to mention the hilariously omniscient rapist. It pains me to sit through this till the end. Tbh I was kinda hoping Himura would have accidentally pushed her into the sea as she ran away and somehow wound up at this peak overseeing the ocean. Now I guess the best I can hope for is a murder/suicide sex scene between the two lunatics, but I guess (?) she's still alive if Himura is apparently waiting for her... idk.

Maybe stick with simple, but effective romance stories like in memories guys.

Kuze basically said she's been dead for a while now or at least hasn't been around.
So yeah it seems like I was right about Yuuko being an angel of some sorts guiding everyone in "Memories" in that case.
So it seems that's what "Memories" was showing too, both of them trying to find each other at the church, which is funny because we've learned that Yuu always runs away except for this time, still holding on to Yuuko despite her not being around anymore.

I'm sure we'll get some more scenes explaining more on this.

As for Kuze, I can understand him to an extent.
If he knows he's going to die, what else is there to do when he knows the inevitable, he doesn't allow himself to form relationships because he knows he'll leave them eventually.
All of these thoughts are hard to get out of but if you think like this you might as well not do anything, you're going to die some day anyway, he just knows the approximate date.
Instead of that, why not just make the most of it, fall in love, create music, make fond memories with the people you know.
It's very similar to Chihiro's situation in that sense, she wouldn't allow herself any happiness either because of her amnesia.

I'm guessing Akira constantly abused and inflicted violence against Yuuko because he wanted to see a specific face of anguish on her face, one that would resemble the face he'd imagine his siter having at the time of her death. His regret was not being present during the earthquake fire that killed his sister, and his years of regrets and self-hatred made him wish he could have died in the fire with her. Survivor's guilt, huh. Nonetheless, it's weird how I've seen so many tortured artists in media turn into maniacal criminals, psychopaths, or general monsters. I wonder where that impression of artists came from.
