| Eminence in the shadow episodes always feel 5 minutes long! I love how it perfectly parodies isekai tournament arcs. But instead of the MC being underrated by others due to cockyness, the MC is purposely keeping himself appearing like he's winning from flukes. Definitely messes with my rooting for the underdog bias. |

| I've been avoiding myself to post in the forums since it aired back in October cause I was thinking it was just your average fantasy anime. But I was wrong, every week I witness that this show is really something!!!! I love it now. I really liked the humor of this. The characters are entertaining.😂 Looking forward next week as always. 😊 |

| Another Wednesday and another wonderful episode of The Eminence in Shadow. Cid is moving through the rounds to reach the main tournament, which will start in the next episode, most likely. Annerose has tried to figure out what the strengths are of Cid's alter ego, but she is still falling much short of what he can actually do... As the tournament arc continues the background plot of Rose also continues. She will probably be the last major plot point to resolve this season in a few episodes' time. The way Cid fights as Mundane Mann is absolutely hilarious, and the humor that plays off that with how Annerose interprets it, and in turn, emulates it, is even more humorous. The last scene at the end of the episode where Annerose cracks her neck to show that she has learned Cid's tricks was absolutely hilarious. The reverberation and slow-mo of that scene made it even more fun than it had any right to be. The plot continues to tug along, but for me, the highlight of this show is just the absolutely engrossing mix of humor, action, and widely entertaining reactions between characters. This tournament arc is likely to prove even more hilarious as we go along, with a climax I cannot wait to see in a few episodes' time. As this show goes along it might end up being my favorite for the Fall 2022 season, as it is just so goddamn entertaining and much better than it has any right to be.  |
