I can say that the first episode is great. The main character's life is kind of sad but the sweets from "Ryokushou" makes him happy that reminds others to enjoy their life happily even in such a tough situations.

This episode is awesome.

Curious.
I liked the first chapter, let's see how Nagomu will do to be his "father image" of Itsuka. The opening and ending are nice.

How dare anybody leave the house and try to find a life for their own, and then come back when they heard their parents were in trouble. The nerve! The father is just plain abusive out of pure spite. Both get in the way of the mushy overtones that the show is clearly going for.

Seconding. I'm not sure how much of Nagomu's dad I can stand throughout the show if he continues as he was this episode. I also want to see how Nagomu and Itsuka's interactions play out these next couple of episodes. Right now I could see myself dropping or staying with it depending on how antagonistic or cooperative it proceeds.

yooo a wagashi anime. ive been reading some manga's involving them and unexpectedly ive also fallen a bit for em lol

im liking mc a lott. hes super positive and carefree but also not a total "dumbass" character who cant read the room and is irresponsible. the story's p nice too, definitely something ill look forward to each week :D

Japanese sweets always look very good in anime, would like to try some one day....

I definitely had the same thought; just the kind of twist stuff like this loves to add.

Temper your expectations about the sweets, if you're used to the word "sweets" meaning "has a lot of sugar"...I've managed to try a handful of different types and they tend to rely on any natural sweetness rather than much added sweetness...I.E., if you can eat some red bean paste or some sweet rice and appreciate the sweetness of them by themselves, you're more likely to enjoy Japanese sweets than if you're big on stuff like cake and milk chocolate.

I really liked this first episode, it is so sweet <3 I don't like Nagomu's father because he is too strict.

Ah its been a long time since i previously watch anime about wagashi, or food in general. And to top it off there's another theme around like music and father-daughter dynamic which kinda similar to something like Usagi Drop.

Liking this episode already with the combination of soothing art style and music on the background, giving me an instant relaxation mode through all the time. Oped also breeze me some good vibes too, not to mention those whole lot of colorful manjus really brought my mouth some watery down there.

The story so far seems pretty light, easy to following up, even though the drama from a fake order kinda be a killing the mood for a while, and the backstory of green-haired girl got me hard for a minute and half. But glad that Nagomu was the kind of mc i feel so likeable with all his carefree action helping that matured girl.

Expect something more wholesome happened within their activities creating more manjus later. So lets call it earlier, this is my hidden gem of the spring season...

This looks like it will be a pretty good anime. It's already my favourite out of the ones I've seen this season so far.

The last few minutes were a wholesome and entertaining twist to top off an already promising anime.

i was sold the moment the mom told Nagomu to try and be like a father to her. the unexperienced father-daughter dynamics are just plain wholesome. tbh this exceeded my expectations, and it's probably the best first episode I've seen (so far) this season. hopefully, it can maintain this type of quality for the next episodes.

Didnt like the pace of this episode like at all, I hope that this is just because they tried to explain a bunch of stuff. The themes feels alright, but the MC is just too goofy for its own good. I really hope that we dont get more sudden coincidences

Man, I fucking love this a lot already. Out of the shows that premiered this season so far, this had the strongest impression on me, though I feel once the season ends, this will be one of my top shows if it keeps it up or gets even better.

When someone asks me why I like anime, I'd say Just Because.

.................... damn~

That's a lot of information they dump on the first episode of what should be a chill and relaxing slice of life series lol.
Did that trending "1 episode rule" culture already got so bad that even slice of life anime start to dump as many info as possible on the first episode to attract viewers?

Anyways, this first episode is actually pretty good once I ignore most of the info dump. I also hope that whatever father-daughter drama can stay on the sideline rather than became the main focus.

Finally, there is also the Slice of Life anime. Really very relaxing and relaxing. The character creation is also very smooth, looks natural and smooth. Plus the opening song is very beautiful, it puts my mind at ease. For now I'm giving it a score of 8/10.

It's trying to be an iyashikei as well as having drama in it, which are two completely contradicting things. It just felt very weird to watch the entire episode. A different accent, I guess that's a fresh thing.

this should be a masterpiece/hidden gem of the season as long as the father/daughter relationship doesn't go down the usagi drop route

otherwise, the premiere has me hooked. this will have feels, good laughs, and heart-warming development, I can tell.

Gotta give this one an immediate score cause that was a great lovely wholesome episode.
Showed so much substance from both lead characters plus the plot between the shop succession and the father-daughter dynamic building between the two leads.
Pacing was so good. None of the setup felt forced or rushed. Greatly looking forward to how the story goes.

This will be my weekly dose of filling the warm, soft and sweet feeling within me, just like manju.

Although the background of the main characters are quite dark, I can't deny that when I see the atmosphere in Ryokushou and Nagomu's relationship with Itsuka, it gives me a calm feeling and I am happy. I find it relaxing and fitting to be called a "relief" after watching all kinds of anime.

I’m pretty sure that the guys who pranked her were the dudes who were smoking inside of the shop. Also, I like the fact that Nagomu isn’t competing with Itsuka, instead he’s supporting her along the way.
What a wholesome episode. I kind of needed this after having a rough semester in uni.

This was really cute in a Sweetness and Lightning/Poco’s Udon World kind of way. Like it’s adorable but you know there’s gonna be at least one or two moments where you get hit right in the feels haha. The Japanese sweets in this look incredible so far. Definitely found myself getting more than a little hungry throughout the episode!

Looking forward to seeing more delicious manju next week.

Another wholesome anime about a father-daughter relationship and pretty nice art style? Count me in! I love it!!!

And I also love the way Itsuka speaks, is really cute how she tries so hard to act mature, fits perfectly for her!

Lovely 1st episode, it's funny how the 30 years old guy and 10 years old girl has their role inversed for their maturity and personality though it's just heartbreaking for the girl how she got abandoned by her parents, hopefully she'll have some great heartwarming moments here working at the store
