That little monster up cracked me up when he chose Nina instead of Casca to be tortured.

That was good. Especially the 2D surprises they put for us throughout the episode. But it really hurts because I wish the whole anime was like that.

The brief instances of 2D animation look amazing. That sword grab looked like a nice homage to the art of the manga. Even the CG is more tolerable compared to the previous episodes.

Aside from the first 2 or 3 episodes (and omitting my favorite Arc entirely), this is a pretty faithful adaptation. I hope the director and staff of this animu aren't discouraged by the tepid reception. I'd love to see another season.

The scene where Casca was being carried away by the soldiers would have been a much better end to the episode.

But no, they had to start the next episode in the 2nd half of this one. The first half was one of the better episodes too...

Wonder how Nina got caught up with all these heretics in the first place.
She treats Casca really good. Either Luca taught her well or she's a good person. Probably both. She doesn't deserve punishment.

I'm not even sure why Lady Farnese let them take Nina and Casca away in the first place. Obviously she knew she could use Casca to find Guts.

The Serpico fight was more interesting than the Goat. He's quite protective of Lady Farnese, more so than usual?

Finally Guts will enter the tower.

I used to dislike Nina, and I still for the most part do. But it takes a lot more will power from a natural coward to do something courageous than someone who's naturally brave, so the little she's trying still demands respect. I don't consider myself a coward but if someone throws me into such a hell, I too might piss my pants!

Then again, there is more to Nina's terribleness than just cowardice so I can understand the hate. Like what she's done to Joachim.. poor little guy...

Man, the fight at the beginning with the goat demon was 10/10.

I already know what's coming from playing the game, so I'm just more hyped than anything rn.

The CGI was kind of weird in this episode. Nonetheless, the battle scenes were quite gripping. Good episode.

Great episode yet again. At this rate, I might like this series even more than the original one. When Guts was fighting the goat demon, that fucker was pretty fast. Jumping from wall to wall. He even got close to skewering Guts' remaining eye. Man, that would suck for Guts if he lost his last eye. Game over.I liked that the music stopped right after the beheading.

Guts called him a half-apostle, so that makes me think that the one who infected the goat demon is a real apostle. It's probably the same creature that "rescued" Joachim. And lol, Farnese beating up her underlings. This girl has got some problems. Taking in mind the fact that she happily burned people alive as a kid. I'm wondering if they're gonna let her have a sort of "redemption arc" where she sees how foolish she's been and tries to help Guts in the end? Or are they going to turn her into a villain?

Then the fight with Serpico. What's up with that guy? Why is he so worried about Farnese?. What are they to eachother? She must be pretty important to him, if he's willing to stand up to Guts for her. The way he picked out the perfect spot to confront Guts. What a tactician. Griffith from last season would be proud.

Then the scene with the blonde girls and Casca, being picked out by the torturer. Funny to see a torturer teach a lesson to that blonde girl about "standing up for your friends". Unexpected to say the least. I'm guessing she'll suffer and die, giving Guts enough time to reach Casca? We'll see.

Also, I can't help but laugh everytime Casca makes an incoherent moan. Its like comedy gold ;D. I never imagined it in the manga, but I just expected her to honestly be mute and maybe vocalize from time to time with incoherent mumbles, but she is just going to town with these moans. I can only imagine the VA hired for this getting tired of moaning into the mic almost every episode. Then again, its some easy pay that's for sure.
