| Ah, I see. I figured they couldn't make it convincing so they took care of most of the problematic parts off-screen. That works well with me. We also learned that Saber is pretty weak and got her ass kicked by someone Shirou can fight for some time with. Music was very good this episode, better than ever before. The episode was good overall. Very good beginning to the episode as well even with the entire UBW poem. Oh, and I actually prefer this voice actor of Souichirou over the original in the VN. All in all, considering this was going to be the most problematic episode in the anime in my opinion, they handled it very well. Also, all monologues aren't monologues, they just explain the situation to the reader and they don't mean that the character is actually thinking those. You guys need to learn more about VNs told from the protagonist's PoV. |

It just so happens that while Shirou knew exactly what kind of monster he was facing, Saber thought he was just some random normal human, so she severely underestimated him and was too stunned to react in time to his first strike to the back of her neck, which disoriented her, making her unable to fight properly. Additionally, Shirou had time to observe his fighting style. In the VN it's stated that now that Saber is used to it, he wouldn't be able to defeat her again. | That episode was amazing! Best episode of the series so far with by far the best fight scene. It had the animation quality of the first 2 eps but the epicness of all the others. I swear the budget on this ep was 2x that of previous normal length ones. This is ufotable at their best. Definitely the best tv anime fight seen I've ever seen. UBW looked nice too. This ep boosted it from an 8 to a 9 for me. Those snow effects looked lush. This is the only episode so far that I have nothing to nitpick about. It didn't conflict in my vision from the Vn but actually enhanced it and that's what a great adaptation should do! |
