As for the episode, not as satisfying as the prologue, even though added scenes with the trackteam girls were nice (I swear, F/HA anime confirmed), mainly due to the fact that telling the same events from Shirou's perspective hardly bring anything new to the table, aside from introducing Shirou's character. That being said, I think the job was done right: at the end of the 47mins, you get a good grasp on what type of person he is, and leaves you curious to see how his involvement in the HGW will afect his development. Also Shinji pimpin' was good. I love watching Shinji pimpin'. |

(can't remember her name) I'm happy with how it turned out, lancer did point out that Shirou had his head screwed on straight and i hope people don't have to be told that The child of light was going easy on him. The school scenes had me reminiscing and the sounds were awesome (extra points for lancer hunting Shirou through the school). I have high hopes for HF now. |

Honestly it's kind of hard to even attempt to have a discussion with those guys around kind of trying to police opinion isn't it? I got into a bit of trouble last week for causing trouble in the thread, but I kind of wonder why this sort of thing is allowed by and large. I guess as long as they don't get too completely out of control, but really it's more a matter of just trying to get a word in edge wise on these forums and I don't see how it's going to be possible to have anything even remotely resembling a real discussion even by MAL standards. | The first half of this episode was SO DAMN BORING ... lots of that damned annoying teacher, lots of talking, lots of walking around the school and Shirou being helpful, lots of BOREDOM. Uh-oh, now the 'priests' will jump on me for daring to say something bad about the show. Things finally did pick up when they got to the point that the prologue left off. Excalibur looks amazing with Ufotable doing it. And Shirou is showing signs of his future badass self, even if he hasn't perfected Trace yet. Only the first episode and already he's used one of his Command Spells. It wouldn't do to kill the love interest of the UBW route in the first episode, after all. I enjoyed the cameos by Illya and you-know-who. I know from watching the movie that but I hope she at least gets more airtime than in the film adaptation. |

| omg, the op and ed is amazing. my opinion is kinda biased because i am in deep love with the fate series but shit... this will be AOTY easy honestly, i don't think theres an anime this year that can contend with this. i know only episode 1 and the prologue are out, but they did such an amazing job so far. i can only see greatness in the future. |

| I have no words to describe how happy I am. This is perfect I have no objections. It's been years since I played the VN (actually I played it the same day it got translated) and I don't remember a lot of things for sure. I am not sure about the details but as far as the general setting goes Ufotable scores an easy 10/10. Astonishing animation, godlike soundtrack and two 2hour long episodes. For me this is like a wish come true. I can't wait for more. 25 mins will not be enough from now on. Also SABEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER<3 <3 >DAT OPENING OMG |
