| Wow, I didn't even realized it was 30 minutes. I remembered there was a lot of talking in the Archer vs Caster fight, so it's good that it didn't bore me. Really liking where this is going. I can't wait for more Archer and Shirou dialogue; they were the best thing about UBW. |

| Amazing episode! Maybe the best episode so far. Seeing Archer's dark ideals in contrast with Shirou's was great. The way Archer breaks Caster's force field and how he follows it up with Caladbold were moments of outstanding quality. Rin's dream with all the blades was also excellent. And thumbs up for all the glorious gore. I can't quite recall what happens next in the story. Time to go back to the visual novel and see what's to come. |

| Freakin amazing again. Caster and Assassin came across perfectly, and couldn't have had their scenes animated with more (deserved) respect and attention. The clash of ideals was handled brilliantly, I especially loved the emphasis on the allusion to Kerry for what it does to build Shirou's development. Only problem was not with the show but Aniplex taking liberties and changing "Drown in your ideals and die". Also felt like they went out of their way to use the same wording of certain things as FZ which was unnecessary. |

They don't absolutely have to show as much blood as they did, although I do think this is how F/SN should be animated because it's a dark story. Anyway, I'll keep that in mind when I take a look at what happens next since I can't recall it. But even if it can be gory, I don't think it would be gorier - and especially more disturbing - than a particular scene that will take place in the second cour. But we're starting to go off on a tangent, so I'll leave it at that. |

| Best episode yet! All of the fights were excellently executed and all of the servant personalities were portrayed accurately. The slow motion dodge and subsequent Caladbolg attack just made me ecstatic. The ambiguous and mysterious nature of Archer's actions and motives are now made apparent with his sparing of Caster and attack against Shirou (they bring up questions as to what he is really after if not looking out for the best interest of his master), and Archer and Shirou's ideals are now starting to be brought up. Though, the line "Drown in your ideals and die" really should have be used instead of the translation they did. Hopefully anime-only viewers will now realize that Shirou's hero complex and naivety are actually intentional plot elements and not unintended results of bad writing. Also, once again some strong foreshadowing appears. The themes of the story are starting to enter and the Holy Grail War is starting to pick up.The introductory phase is now complete.  Also this scene:  Made this come to mind (spoilers regarding Caster's identity and master) |

That's actually interesting, considering Type-Moon fans like myself would say it's far easier to appreciate Fate/Zero after reading Fate/stay night. I've always been a little resistant to the idea of watching F/Z first, because I imagine it gives you a different idea of Fate from what the original story intended, and that would set up disappointment when F/SN came though, like the complaints of the "high school setting" and Shirou being supposedly generic. I'd like to ask, in your opinion, how does watching F/Z enhance the F/SN experience for you? |
