For ex: 3@5= (3)(5) + 8(3) + 8(5) + 56= 135 Find the value of B such that A @ B= A for all values of A. In other words, B is the identity Element for the @ operation, find the value of B. GUESS & CHECK IS NOT ACCEPTABLE WAY OF SOLVING THIS PROBLEM. You must show an algebraic solution. Hint: Factoring by grouping may help with this problem. |

I skiped a bunch of years in math in fact I'm taking Calculus next year only cause I had to go back and take geometry for a year.. but I looked the word identity element on wikipedia and the only thing I recognized was the word dot product...And I hated learning that.. but I'll give it a shot for about 8 minutes. |
