| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Wow. Can't believe no one started a forum yet! Or it's messed up, like it sometimes is xD. Well, IMO I thought this episode was really good, and it slowed down the pace from the previous episodes. I guess the Hunter Exam will take a while, but I really enjoy it! I can't wait for the next episode! And I'm thinking of watching the original series sometime too :D |
| I loved this episode~ it' true the pace slowed down..and we actually know about Tompa's nature from the beginning. What I liked was when he was remembering how his laxative strategy failed so badly~ I think it was in the manga...good thing animated that part :) Illumi looked even more weird~ and I liked the seiyuu so far too for Hisoka and the ninja ^_^ But Killua's previous seiyuu was better I think. I can't wait for the next episode~ |
| Haha yes, I agree. Killua's first seiyuu was amazing. All of them were. ^-^ Although the original will always be my favorite, I think I will be enjoying this more now that I've seen our 4 main characters. Though I actually prefer the slower pace. x] I was nervous about how I would react to the new Hisoka, but I think his new voice suits him in a different way from the old one. The flowers did surprise me though because it seems like they are introducing nen much earlier than expected. Can't wait for next week! |
| I like how the pace slowed down, though I'm just a little upset that I'm going to have to wait another whole week to see more! I gotta agree with the others that Killua's first seiyuu was better, but this one 'aint half bad either. The other guys' new voices are already warming up to me too! And I think that flower scene with Hisoka was added, right? It was still pretty funny though, seeing him already pulling out his creeperness so early on, hahaha. |

| I'm loving this version! I'm re-watching the old series for memories sake, and it's awesome seeing the differences they have. Luckily they aren't too drastic! Tonpa's way fatter, and #301 is a different color than in the original! The laxative thing was hilarious too! It was nice finding out about his douche bagginess up front. I actually like Killua's new voice actor. Sounds a little more naive, but it makes his character younger. Mr. Satotz voice isn't as cool, and I don't like how his mustache moves, and he didn't walk like a freak in the original! I'm super glad they are re-doing this show! So nostalgic! |

| the BGM is dragging this show to hades...this is Hunter x Hunter...not Pirate x Pirate...and when you introduce hisoka,, you use some creepy music...not fking spanish...nor do you replace blood with gay sparkles why is the midget green? that is extremely retarded speaking of retarded...satotz's moustache and the way he walks...wtf? Illumi's head going left and right.. it's much better in the original... the animation sucked...so much for 2011...look at how they run..this is too rushed.. |

| The BGM seriously sounds like elevator music. I've never paid much attention to the music, but this one is just painful. I sort of expected a band to show up when Hisoka turned around = A = And Pockle. WHY PINK? He looks girlier than Ponzu. Oh well, at least killua sounded like a shota. |
| I really liked this episode. I don't mind the new voices, except Hisoka. I preferred his sarcastic voice that he had in the original, but i'm sure it will grow on me. I'm digging the animation, everyone looked very detailed. Looking forward to more. |

| The way they started with the censored stuff they can never keep this going into the later arcs. There aren't enough flowers in the world to hide all the blood that will be flowing in the later episodes :-) |

| I'm actually OK with the new voice actors, though I don't think Hisoka's new voice is up to par with the old one in terms of creativity and creeper scale. The flowers were kind of a downer, though; HxH was great because it didn't water down the details as much as other shounen anime. Hopefully, Hisoka will do more than bloom flowers in later arcs. It was also nice to see them slow the pace down. | But but but. Why does Hanzo look so gay? The way his brows were done.... too painful to watch. =.= Plus Killua's eyes look girly. The new voice actors are growing on me, but hate to say the animation ain't cutting it, moreso the BGM. Terrible music picks IMO. |

| Hmmm, I probably have to get used to Hisoka, his theme song is horrible lol. Killua looks a bit too cute Why the hell is his skateboard orange? I'm pretty sure it was Green with an yellow arrow. But I'm happy they slowed down the pace. |

| Hooray for a slower pace! That's really what the series needed. However, the slower pace now makes the faster pace of episodes 1 and 2 feel even cheaper. I have no idea why they decided the President's assistant is green-skinned... there's no reason he should be. Killua's voice is far too girly - it doesn't hold any of the danger it should. I was rather put off by Satotz's robot-like appearance, too. The background music still doesn't fit the series. What I did enjoy was seeing all the characters, despite a few color changes (or extra hair, especially in the eyebrows). Hisoka's voice has potential; its real challenge will be the laugh. I'm not sure if anyone else can produce that sound. Looking forward to next week. |

| I also don't really pay attention to the BGM ever but I did notice how bad this one was. When something goes down they play some sailorish music like this is One Piece or something. I don't really like Hisoka's and Killua's voice, at least, not more than the original. Hisoka's old VA matched him, the high pitched voice added to his creepiness. His new voice is okay but it's a little deeper, still sounds a little bad ass though. Killua sounds more like a girl too just like all of them: Gon, Killua and Kurapica. This episode was okay because we saw some of the introductions of characters as well as saw Tonpa and his scheming. I did like episode 2 slightly more though but this one is close to it. Also glad that they slowed down a little and I hope it doesn't get worse. The VAs+BGM+Fast pace=fail(IMO) Spanish guitar sounded good but definitely doesn't fit. Hisoka is a bad ass perv who gets off from fighting a strong opponent, not an arrancar. They really fucked up this OST. Not one good one in the bunch so far. |

| I liked this episode more than the first two, and I was just getting used to the differences and not comparing everything to the original... and then Killua spoke. =/ To me, he sounds more like I believe Gon should sound. I didn't have much of a problem with the other three''s seiyuu changing, but I really, really find Killua's new voice jarring. Maybe it's because I love his original voice so much. |

| Those voices.. I definitely need time to get used to those. Hisoka's voice scared the shit out of me. I didn't expect it to sound so deep. Oh and when Killua started talking, for a minute I thought it was Gon's voice lol. BGM/OST still sucks. And I forgot to mention this in my previous posts, but Kurapika skin tone looks awfully pale in some shots. |
| I HATE Hisoka's new voice. All the creepiness is gone, now he just sounds like your generic "if you touch me I'll kill you" serious antogonist. Killua's voice is fine, but I thought he was Gon when he first talked too. |

| I was waiting for this third episode with horror, because of hearing Hisokas new voice D: Well it could have been a lot worse so I think I maybe can get used to it, maybe not. But well Hiroki is still a lot better! It's funny but I think the new one makes him sound gayer :P Killua was a bigger shock I guess, since he sounds totally like a girl o_O The last seiyuu was a female too but then he didn't actually sound like a little girl... Also on that note now that Gon sounds more like a boy I'll prolly get a bit confused while watching. Kurapica sounds more like a woman now, dunno if they wanted to just make him more gender confusing than he already was or what, but it does not bother me that much. Leorio sounds the same as always :D I didn't mind the fast pace, well I was hoping for it and now that I've heard the voices I'll prolly let the episodes pile a little before watching again. I do look forward to this on the long run since I want the anime to continue, but well it's just too bad they didn't keep Hisokas voice as it was ;__; Also dang what's up with Hanzos brows? :'D (oh and there is 404 contestants because the armles guy died ;)) |

The BGM is atrocius, Hisoka's appearance and voice aren't as sly as in the original, and that "Oh look, I made his arms disappear" move was pretty gay. Also Satotz is looking like a complete fag... When I got to this part in the original series, it wasn't jolly or happy, it wasn't even that much adventurous. It had a very serious tone and a rather dangerous atmosphere. In this remake it looks like HEY GON LOOK I KILL PEOPLE BY SHOOTING RAINBOW PONIES EVERYTHING IS FUNNY. I want to cry. |

| Well, I suppose Killua's new VA wasn't as bad as I expected... though I still prefer the original's. (This one sounds a little bit too high o_o when he asked Tonpa for another drink, I almost thought it was Gon... eh!?) Though maybe it's because I'm resistant to change, haha. Can't say I liked Hisoka's new VA, though I expect I'll get used to it in time. His first VA was... creepier and Hisoka-like... and sent chills down my spine. (If I remember it properly. Ahaha.) The pace really slowed down! :O For a second there, I thought they were going to skip the whole introduction-to-everyone bit, and let everyone run to the goal already, ahaha. Oh well, nonetheless, it's still Hunter x Hunter! Look forward to the part where Killua meets Gon. 8D |
| Overall this episode was stil OK. BUT, the voice actor of Hisoka and Killua, somehow disappoint me. Hisoka: The seiyuu is Namikawa Daisuke right? He is also the seiyuu of Fai and Kazehaya, but the voice is so different from what I exected from him. It was not terrible, but I think it doesn't match with Hisoka psycho character. Somehow the voice is too "heavy". Well, maybe I'm too attached with the old voice, but still.. Killua: WTF? Is he a girl? OK, I know the seiyuu in old series also a woman, Mitsuhashi Kanako if I'm not mistaken. But still this is too girly. Really, for the first time I think that's Gon's voice calling Tonpa. Other than that, I think the thing in this episode was still fine. I don't really care for Tonpa and Satotz voice though :-P. |

But Killua wasn't like this, i know he's 12 years old but he didn't sound girly even though his VA was a woman. And Kurapika, who's older, sounds girly too, so you can't really justify it that way. |
