Laptop, and MPV gang y'all! Never looking back after going fully CLI with my video player! Then again, I'm already the sort of freak of nature who uses scripts to edit the subtitles so that the subs are on the top of the screen, so of course I'm an MPV user.
Opinions are opinions, and differing opinions can co-exist. 🙂 But I don't do debate, life's too short to spend time debating people.

Most of the time I'm watching anime on my laptop, which is connected to a monitor. When not using my laptop, I just use my phone and watch an episode while lying in bed

@Daviljoe193 yeah ani-cli is pretty great, been using that for quite a while before I got my android tablet.

If you got good PC speakers, ani-cli is the way to go

Team laptop hooked on a TV here
Used to just on my computer, but living conditions have long since improved since moving from a single room to a small apartment within the house of my parents more than 5 years ago
Also using a small 5.1 sound system with a center box for the surround sound experience

@SnipeStrike We all start small(er), though it took me much longer till I had at least a "HD-ready" 720P 32" TV
720P is btw more than enough already for Anime. 1080 is more of a waste of space
As for DVDs, their only purpose for me is to be converted into ISOs so they can stay in their boxes and I don't have to hear the sound of an optical drive while watching

65" IPS TV. But my favorite pirate site with voice-over translations to my preferred language doesn't offer anything above 1080p.

I have a tv in my room now so that’s my go to for anime and I got an Apple TV as I like the UI for streaming apps better than on the smart tv itself

used to only watch on iPad before because I didn’t like the aesthetic of a tv in the bedroom for the longest lol but I’m fully converted now

Mostly on my laptop, but also my phone. I found that some older shows actually look better on the phone, since the picture quality isn't as crucial on a smaller screen.

I usually watch on my laptop (MSI GS76 Stealth) connected via HDMI to my Planar PCT2235. It's about 21.5". It's a touchscreen but I don't use that feature. Not the best monitor, but it's the best I have available at the time. And it's not the brightest, nor is it the most colorful or vibrant, but it gets it done. Really performs it's best in low-lighting and in the dark. Sometimes I unplug it from my PC and stick it in my PS2 to play DVDs. Once I get the blue ray laser fixed on my PS3, I'll be able to play BDs as well.

It's easy to clean though.

Otherwise, I use a Sharp CRT that I bought and cleaned up for $1 a few years back, usually for DVDs that have a 4:3 ratio.

Wow, that's like a little home theater, then
Do you have it wall-mounted?

I actually prefer a more modern 16:9 TV screen with good blackness values over a 4:3 CRT screen even for older 4:3 formats, since the color saturation feels more vivid

@Noboru No, because my wall is covered with woodpanels, I don't think it can support it well? I putted the giant heavyweight on my old desktable. After 7 months I see the table is holding strong, no bends or anything like that. Indeed it's like a little home theater. I think I have seen more stuff on this TV then actual gaming :P I plan to get a smaller high end monitor for gaming, but the prices are quiet high for the rather small inch size imo. I'll wait some more, I got time :p

I typically watch it on my tv, tablet, or computer. I’m logged into all of it. I typically prefer my tablet - it’s a bigger one I got as a hand-me down so it’s portable which is something I prefer because I’m always on the go but I just don’t love watching on my phone.
