How do you feel about the age difference between Maika and Dino?

| This kind of has to do with both the show and my own personal issues. I think the show is good and all the aspects of it are enjoyable except for one. The Dino and Maika subplot and more significantly the age difference between them. Maika is 16 and Dino is 26. I don't know about you guys but this kind of takes me out of the show. When I should be enjoying the characters, that are fun, whenever Dino is doing something somewhat romantic with Maika, I can only think of how creepy it is and it is really hard to enjoy that specific subplot. The way the show handles it is especially weird because Maika's high school friends and family aren't only ok with it but kinda support it, and the other cafe workers sometimes wingman for Dino. So, for a while I thought this was some weird version of the world where teenagers dating people in their 20's was just a normal thing. But at the same time, Dino gets arrested one episode for being creepy with a minor or something which leads me to believe that this is illegal in this world, which makes it worse. I know people are gonna say "who cares if its fictional" but its hard for me not to get "older superior tries to get with a high school worker" vibes even if they make Dino out to be kind of pathetic. Anyone else feel the same or have differing thoughts about this. |

Anyway, I don't think its that bad and its not like he's going to grope her up. Its done for comedic effect and there is much worse out there. Just learn not to sweat the small stuff. |

| There certainly can be a problem... if this show was even a bit of serious. However, the show itself is incredibly not so, and the relationship just doesn't look like a romantic one at all. More like the dumb manager having a silly crush on her, while innocent Maika does like him but only in a "sempai x kouhai" way, as KamenRiderMagna said. Well, at least, that's how I see it. Judging from how this show has played out so far, I doubt it'll actually get anywhere to raise any red flag. My guess is that it'll just stay as one of the comedic routine even into the last episode. |

Yep same here I was totally behind it thinking he was perhaps even 19, but 26??? had no idea till I saw it last night and tbh it really made me sad and ill knock a point off the series for it minimum. Such a shame as theres no need for him to be over ten years older, 19 would have been fine, although pushing it even then. When I was 17 I went out with a guy who was 26 and I wish I never had it is no laughing matter. I just... ugh, its really taken the shine off this series for me, and now everything is just smeared with an extra thick layer of paedophile creepiness. Not what I want from a light hearted funny show, which we need to balance out all the edgy series RN Oh well I may drop this and give the extra point to Net ju Susume at least there is np with age there! |

| It does make me uncomfortable if I contemplate the age difference in real life but not to the point of it hindering my enjoyment. | I don't see any problem (not just an anime, but even in real life) as long it is consensual I hate this anime for another reason, and that is because it is boring and the comedy is not funny (i only watched 1 episode though). |

| I never really cared too much for the age difference since I never thought about the difference. When it comes to these two, the chemistry between for comedic purposes is great. It's never deterred me from watching either. |
| I know what you mean, it makes me kinda uncomfortable mostly because when I was a teen I really disliked adults trying to flirt with me. Ten years is a big difference when one of the parts is a teenager. In this case I try to think "it's just an anime, it's funny, there's worse out there". |

| Doesn't really bother me. My parents are almost 10 years apart. 8-9 I think. And they're both in their 50s-60's now. So I think it's more hypocritical to say it's weird if they were in high school when its completely socially acceptable now. So my dad would've been 16-17 in high school when my mom would've been like 24-25. Can it be weird? Yea maybe a little. I definitely think there are a lot of factors. The exact ages and what should socially be acceptable as the limit. Is a 16 year old with a 26 year old ok? If so, how about a 15 year old and a 32 year old? Then of course it depends on the individuals themselves (if the older person is genuine or a fucking creep). Then factor in age laws and how intimate they are with each other. |
