And the final episode...

It looks like they are going out with a big bang with every major character and Chaika fighting. Eh, I guess it works for a climax. Lol, I had to smile at Toru riding Frederica like a dragon; pretty classic. Same with the way he used his weapons.

The final fight was okay, felt a bit fast at some parts. Chaika was impressive though. Rating this same as the first season. 8/10.

Man Toru looked like a fucking badass when he made that contract.

Chaika blew her 'dad' up well thats one way to give someone a funeral.

Kinda sad that its over, I really enjoyed both seasons. Lets look foward to the OVA :).

So did Chaika lose her memory of them or not? I get the sense that's what they were going for, but by the end I dunno...they coulda made it clearer. Anyway this was a fun show and the conclusion felt appropriate enough I guess, though it definitely felt rushed. The pacing of this season in general was odd. We had quite a few build up episodes only to end up with a rushed finale. Regardless, I guess I'm satisfied with how it turned out. Taken as a whole with season one this was an enjoyable enough show. Alright story, pretty good action, etc. 7 out of 10 as a whole I guess.

Tooru finally makes a contract with Frederica, but it was all Chaika (and Niva) who defeated Emperor Gaz in the end and gives the Emperor the funeral.

I like the ending. Wow, happily ever after~ :) My only minor gripe is that it felt so rushed. :x But nonetheless, I truly enjoyed both seasons!

I hope the original content of the OVA is an epilogue of sorts with all of the character just chillaxing and havin' a good time! :D It's always a good idea to take some time off!

The second half of Chaika definitely could've used a full 12 eps to build up the finale better but I thought it was fine for what it was given the amount of episodes Bones had to work with

Not gonna blow any minds but Chaika is a mighty fine adventure show. Glad I watched it
7/10

I'm sad we'll never hear anymore Shocking Truth!/Kansha! though : /

The Ova is a 20 min video with 2, 10 minute stories. one of them involves all the girls in a sort of competiion in there swimsuits hehe a fan service one for sure and the other one i dont know.

Edit: Here is the link for the Ova PV and sypnosis.

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-11-06/chaika-the-coffin-princess-anime-unaired-episode-previewed-in-video/.80733

but considering that all of the girls are interacting with each other in a friendly environment it is set after the battle, the other story has a good chance involving toru in some other situation.

Well i cant believe its finally over. Yeah i would be lying that it did not felt rush a bit but hey it is not rushed as oh look this is so messed up it ruined the show. It is still a good conclusion. the only thing i am a little bothered wiht is weather chaika lost all of her memory or not. well we might get an answer in the ova for that one.

Bottom Line 10/10 the best new anime series of the year and i would give it the award for best sleeper hit of 2014 :)... Well done Bones u have done it again a good job as usual Clap Clap.

I assume that her memory went back to who she was prior to becoming a chaika, but who knows there wasn't much to go off of considering how rushed the finale was. Hopefully they'll explain this in the OVA

I liked this series but this episode wasn't good, maybe good enough, but not good enough for me.
They should have done this in 12 episodes not 10.

It was a good final battle, but Fredrica just gets owned at the start again. The scene where Gaz attempts to block the final blow is a little weird. He just kinda took it, without saying anything or displaying any emotions. I guess he had no "bakana's" to give. I liked all the characters, but the story could have been longer and more developed.

And it's finally over. Shame that it was not longer, because it felt quite rushed.

Even though,I still enjoyed this series immensely. I am balancing on 7-8 score, but I'd say it is closer to 7,due to being so rushed.

The first season received 8 from me.

Well that was quite the ep. Rushed yep. But really enjoyable :3

What a way to contract that was O_O Being bitten like that. Damn did Toru looks BA with the armor though :O Why did his hair volume suddenly increase? XD

What a way to win against Shin XD Extending his weapons like that lol. Cheap :P

Dat red Chaika Dynami Entry'ing Black Chaika in the face and then sending her head flying XD The twins didn't look that hot anymore after they started walking on all 4 <_<

Must've felt like shit for Toru being praised by Gaz for bringing his body parts back XD Dat "I'll friggin kill u" was awesome :P

And GODDAMN!! Not only did Fredrica not have a chance to talk this ep she got OHKO'd by getting cut to pieces >.< Why does that always happen T^T

The Toru vs Gaz fight totally looked like a Final Boss room fight from Kingdom Hearts XD I could feel the RPG vibes XD

Well that was quite something...Niva just said "Fuck u Gaz" WTH?! LOLOLOL
Maiika XD And they lived happily ever after with Red Chaika visiting frequently, Akari writing a friggin huge novel That's just the prologue O_O And Chaika has lost all her memories but happy ^^

8.5/10 for me. 8 on MAL. Loved it more than S1 but still not 9 worthy since it was rushed.

For it being the last episode they wrapped it quickly but it wasn't bad.
Looking forward to answers from the OVA

I don't think that was a good ending for Niva even though she was a weapon she was a friend, had a personality, and defeated Gaz but they went and locked her in a box. :c

This needed 2 or 3 more episodes, they did way too much in this episode. I mean in this episode alone

-Toru became a Dragoon Cavalier
-Toru's underdeveloped antagonist brother died
-Black Chaika died
-Gaz died
-Chaika lost all her memories (maybe?)

As a result of this all the fights were short and fairly anti climatic and other things were left unexplained like that one girl being half chaika (unless I missed that), why didn't the brother use iron blood transformation (I don't even know what this does lol) and what Gaz's end game was (to do more magic stuff?).

All in all it was good, just needed to be a little longer to flesh out characters and have proper final fights.

Expected to be rushed, but this was so much.
Don't get why Niva switch position so fast without any explanation, but what i get is that Chaika used her own memories as a fuel for the last shot.

The last scene was a bit mediocre but a happy ending. Should have been 2 episodes though.

Well, there will be an extra oav coming march 10 2015, hope is a sorta of sequel other than a a service episode only.

Wondering if the light novel has the same ending.

About time Toru became a Dragoon Cavalier. He looked pretty epic with the new armor too!

Shin vs. Toru was awesome! I wonder why Shin didn't activate his Iron-Blood Transformation mode. Maybe, he never intended to go all out against Toru from the start, since it might've killed him? Or it's just that he underestimated him? O.o

I found Niva's sudden betrayal to be somewhat of a BS, though I'm glad she changed sides at the most critical hour. Perhaps, she went along with Gaz all this time just for this moment? If so, the audiences should've been given some cues in the previous episodes, as she confirmed that she has her own personality too, thus thoughts and emotions as well.

Chaika regressed due to her heavy memory loss, but damn she's much cuter now! :3
Lol'd at Akari writing the prologue of a tale about the intense love between two saboteur siblings. XD

Good episode and overall, very decent series. Although not as great as the first season. I wished it had 12 episodes though, which would've saved the rushed pace.

It felt rushed compared to other battles in the series, but it was still a good satisfying ending. I enjoyed it, and makes sense that Niva wouldn't attack Chaika since that was the first person to treat her as a person, and use her as a weapon.

Considering giving this an 8/10, one point higher than the first season.

You Can't Blame Bones for the rushed Ending, u have to blame the japanes fandom becuase the first season sales were so small an average of 1,400 sales only. the fact that announced a second season in the middle of s2 airing is probably what saved it from have a worse fate, which would be on a cliff hanger.

They probably had to cut out 2 episodes in order to save budget, which is why this is shorter and a bit more rushed but hey at least they made it to the end and the ending is not that bad i have seen series that were way more rushed and had there endings far greater ruined.

Hopefully some of the Answers that were left out would be Anwsered when the OVA comes out, at least i hope so.

Pretty rushed finale. Honestly, I don't really care much... All the things I wanted to happen did, including a happy ending. Even if Chaika lost her memories (which she most certainly did after that blast), she's still standing by Tooru, and they look pretty close which was what I was hoping for.

I only wish Niva didn't need to be locked up in that glass case. She said it herself; she has personality. Getting locked up in that tiny box her whole life sucks. Was kinda hoping that she'd run with with Chaika and company after it was all said and done.

Pretty rushed finale with a major asspull to dispose of Gaz, but at least Toru finally made the contract to become a Dragoon Cavalier. Took him long enough (and he looked pretty badass as well).

If only it was more clear whether Chaika actually lost all of her memories or not.

Are you for real? They rushed it so much... The battle with Shin should have been longer and maybe more emotional. The "battle" with Gaz wasn't even a battle. And after all that preparation and 2 seasons of expectations of his revival. Also nothing on Niva or Frederica at the end apart from a 2 second clip of her being in a cat form. This should have been 12 episodes like all other anime. I guess I can't say much though, since this world runs on money and they either didn't have enough resources to licence it longer, to animate it, combination of both or something else entirely...

Well at least I'm glad they didn't kill off Chaika. That would have made me lower the score.

Hard to believe the heroine of the story is #357 Chaika. That's a lot of Chaikas!
I'm glad Tooru has his little harem now with the White and Red Chaika, as well as his sister, haha. And Tooru finally made a contract with Frederica...

Damn, I'm gonna miss this show. It's a 9/10 for me.

I know that that this is an anime only discussion but could someone please tell me if most of this last season is anime original, cuz I saw that the LN has quite a few volume and is still ongoing. Or maybe I'm wrong so it would give me some ease of mind if I could know for sure.

I definitely wasn't expecting the who Gaz problem to get resolved in one episode. Getting a bit redundant to say it's rushed.

So is this the legit end to Chaika? Are there no more chapters in the manga/LN?

And also how much memory did the white Chaika lose? I'm assuming enough to forget her quest and that she's a tool to be able to live happily like that. But any more than that?

3/5 ep
7/10 series. Was going to be an 8 since I fairly enjoyed it but that last ep. was all sorts of "meh"

I was, in all honesty, expecting to receive an ending of this form. If both seasons of Chaika could be condensed in one simple sentence, that would be - It did what it was meant to do. Kind of like Chaika herself, meaning it stuck to its theme. It's nothing more than an oldschool action adventure, and it never left that initial impression. When the plot has been completely resolved, only a true ending awaits. Be it an anticlimactic one, or not.

Can you blame something for being what it is? Certainly not nowadays, with the amout of overflowing trainwrecks.

It didn't have the most satisfying, tension breaking, plot twisting outburts; But it was a nice gentle ride until the very end. The OST was very melodic, atmospheric and had some RPG vibes in store for me. Could say most of those things apply to the animation as well.

I have a feeling that I'm repeating myself a bit too much, so to conclude my post -
Bones probaly did a good job on adapting this, judging by the reception on these forums. I haven't touched the original source material at all mind you, so take that statement with a grain of salt. In general, Bones tend to do much, much better with adaptations, rather than original anime series in general.

6/10 Overall for both seasons, because it was fine and faithful to its viewers. Looking forward towards the upcoming OVA.

Hmm. Not sure whether it's an 8 or 7, probably leaning toward a 7. First season was a 8.

Like everyone else said, that ending felt really anticlimactic and rushed.

Thing I really liked about the series is how the main characters weren't stupidly overpowered like others. Fredrica was probably my favorite character despite her always almost dying. When Gaz cut her into pieces, I just thought "Oh, again" lol

This was a pretty nice series though a lot happened in this last episode.

It was interesting to see how all the puppet Chaika and even the two black Chaika being under her command. It was so weird watching the Chaika fight.

Tooru abandoning his sabeteur to make a contract with Fredrica. Having to eat a little bit of each other. Tooru looked pretty awesome in his new armour and that regeneration! Killing Shin :/

The fight between Gaz and Tooru. Fredrica instantly disabled and Tooru almost died until Chaika saved him. Niva unable to kill Chaika joins her side and kills Gaz. It was a little underwhelming. The OST was really good when the recoil hit Chaika.

It almost made it seem like Chaika lost all her memories. Everyone moving on and Akari living with Tooru and Chaika with having Red Chaika visiting. That novel xD

Looking forward to the ova, this gets 8/10 as this was pretty good~

Felt too rushed to be honest. I expected Gaz to be much more formidable and the fight with Shin to take longer. I don't get why they added a couple more episodes to flesh things out a bit more. The first season was more satisfying for some reason.

And so it's over. A bit sad since the ending felt rushed :/
I would have liked to have a more develloped epilogue, why can't studio understand that! D:
PLease, make the OVA some sort of epilogue of what happened after the war, maybe a 10 minutes resuming the moment directly after he found Chaika to that five years after and then what happened to the Gilette squad, what happened to Akari and co. and what happened to the ToruxChaika ship.

That bitch emperor broke Chaika coffin! He broke her soul!! And I think he lacked a bit of energy when he was killed, casually doing a shitty shield. I laughed though when Frederica got neutralize in a matter of seconds xD

Shin-nii got caught in a trap. He should have guessed better. You don't mess with a dragon knight, especially when we have no idea either what it does.

Well, it was fun guys, elaborating complicated theories to explain the plot and trying to figures how many Chaika there would be. It was a good ending. Not a great ending, not the most satisfying one that I could have hoped, but I still had fun watching it :)
