GTO is got to get a lot of dumb controversies because onizuka is a ginat pervert
but I still love this show because of the story and characters

I'm not a huge manga guy. Idk what characters who don't appear in the show sound like and all the scenes are stationary. Plus it involves a lot more focus and concentration. Reading be kinda boring....

Remakes of goated anime usually are made just to make money and they forget the essence of that show and the reasons why we loved it. It doesn't feel the same anymore.
They release soulless remakes all the time, it could be happening with Rurouni Kenshin remake (release next week).

I would be happy if they just released a 1080p BD version of it with some color correction and leave it there for eternity.

In regards of the sequel, GTO has a manga sequel and it's pretty decent, it's still publishin up to this date and there are 20 volumes still. They could make an animation of that.
It's called "GTO: Lost Paradise" and Onizuka is in jail, so the essence the original GTO is lost but the comedy is peak anyways.

F a remake or sequel I don’t want to see that classic anime ruined by modern machinations. Anyone who thinks it needs a remake might have their heart in the right spot but Jesus…go watch it again in dubs if you subbed it originally or vice versa, just Jesus no remakes.

they can make continuation series
like new series where original series ends at America they can start at that point
they don't have necessarily have to show connection of original series to new series
they can start from new where onizuka is in america it will grabe new audiance attention as well!
why I'm saying that? because this new series won't get successful if it focuses on past audiance only.
PS: I have no idea about manga tho like if it continues after onizuka went to america so yeah depends on that as well

edit: forgot to say about remake I personally don't want remake of original because it was perfect to me to be honest.

I would definitely like a sequel or S2 of the anime...It is peak comedy and nowadays all these comedy anime just don't feel as hilarious as it was back in the days.

Maybe an anime original spin-off, exclusively circling around that one mother character they dropped early on in the series, Julia Murai. There's a lot of opportunity for stuff they can do with that character alone.
