Yesterday I read a girl's message on Twitter stating how Haikyuu was an icon of the LGBT movement.

I asked her a simple why she thought this, and she replied like this, "because haikyuu is a spokon and spokons are the most homoromantic things ever. and also because bokuto and akaashi"

Is this the truth? Is this anime really an icon for the LGBT movement, there are so many homosexual relationships?

No there aren't any as far as I know. I'm not well versed in those things but as I understand it "gay icons" don't have to gay.

Nothing in it to me seems implciitly or explicitly pro gay. Not like it’s anti gay atall but there wasn’t any form of addressing homoesexuality in any noticable way. It’s just a show about a male sports team. There’s a few flavours of Hetero romances later on but that’s all
