*1, 147,425 147,425 Sword Art Online Progressive Vol.1
9/10 this week it was 7/10 in top 30 I believe. So the volumes of SAO still aren't slowing down, in fact they rose.
I'm still surprised by this even though I heard about it already. I would have thought that Index will still outsell SAO even though the latter's highly popular now. Guess the 7 month gap between volume 4 and 5 hurt quite a bit.
Speaking of NT5, the translator in B-T is crazy, more than half has already been translated. Is he even human? The developments are pretty good though. IDTI, IDTI
And yeah, Progressive. The reboot of the Aincrad arc. I want to read it already. Maybe I should reread Aria first.
And Magi seems to be picking up in the manga sales. I'm enjoying the anime but not as much as the other shows this season. I may read it later on.

And OMG, I just see them making anime of HQ.
Hmm.. will Tsukimono hit 200k?
It seems like i need to teach you about who the author of this manga is. Do you know Adachi, Mitsuru sensei if not then This will be your first lesson google him or look for him in the website.
Magi's boost is also quite evident in the manga discussion threads. Before the anime was aired, there's barely a few of peeps in the latest chapters and now the numbers has gone up, even if it's a little. I'm glad to see these sales figures, it's one of the best shounen I'd read.
Finally Magi gets some well deserved recognition. Maybe now somebody will make some nice wallpapers for Magi. Seriously, there are barely any good pictures out there

don't worry. just like how kuroko's popularity escalated after the anime, so will Magi's. :)

So will every manga that got an anime adaption, actually.
Any source material is bound to get a boost in sales once it's anime adaption airs.
Of course! Without a doubt! ^_^ But not every anime increases the sales of the source material like SAO, Magi, Hyouka and KuroBas. Their source material got a much bigger than most.
why I compared KuroBas with Magi is that its also an anime(remember, I said ANIME XD ) popular with fujoshi and its having a similar effect like Kuroko.

Considering there are lots of manga to anime adaptations this season (Zetsuen no Tempest, Btooom!, JoJo, Code;Breaker, the 3 shojo and if you want you can add Medaka Box) Magi is the only one who's selling this well (add to that the link the guy above me posted).
Anime, manga, either can be popular with fujoshi, but they are only part of the consumers, PART of them, You could say without them it wouldn't have sold as much as it did now, but without all the other demographics that are buying it, it wouldn't sell even half the amount it is selling currently. (I told you this before, if it's fanart you're talking about then that's something else and is irrelevant to the sales, "normal" people can't draw fanarts and aren't that obsessed with the product to attempt to draw one) and yes i heard you, i can see that capslocked "ANIME" in there, and yes i know that, fujoshi seem to crowd around anime more than manga, but...well you get the point.
P,S just in case, by "fujoshi", you mean all the female fans in general or only the BL and/or Bishounen fans?
And yeah, similar to SAO and Hyouka, though i'm wondering why Hyouka got a big boost in LN sales while the anime sales aren't all that big.

Mistsuru Adachi is a really popular mangaka so his name alone is going to attract people, add to that Mix is set in the same universe as arguably his most popular manga Touch and it leads to things like this happening

and i was wondering why lol, i'm expecting that manga to sell like hotcaeks.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?
I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?
I wonder how long people would put up with this.
As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.
It's a matter of degree. Not every series gets a noticeable boost (especially if it's really obscure to begin with and the anime is unpopular) and some series get very mild boosts.
Magi, clearly, is on its way to getting a very very very big boost. That's special, and noteworthy.
exactly what I was trying to say. :)

I guess that increases the chances of it being long-running?
Also Magi has a pretty popular timeslot, doesn't it? I would imagine that late night series would tend to have less impact on the manga sales. Am I wrong?

The thing is, they way the manga and the anime started is different, A-1 Pictures changed the whole interior of the dungeon to
match Amon's abilities (should be clear next episode)
and the first episode they changed the timeline a bit to make all 3 MCs get some screen time, so I think that's one of the things that gave the manga a good boost of sales.
@jmal: Thanks for clarifying, it makes sense SJ works on a bigger scale, I'm guessing they're hogging the best airing slots too?
@Candor: Yeah, I read about them fast-forwarding the pace in the beginning, but it should stabilize quite soon. It still hasn't been confirmed how long the anime will run, has it? Here's hoping for at least 3-cours!

In an interview in a magazine (which is not known yet to be fake or real) someone from the staff mentioned they're planning to animate 2-cours, but nothing is officially confirmed yet. Hopefully they'll animate further than Balbadd (the end of these 2-cours), the manga is getting better and better with each chapter atm.

I've read fans say that 2-cours will be too short to adapt properly until the end of the Balbadd arc so I just hope they don't overpace it.
