| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Awesome episode. The fight begins with David Eagle. I knew he would be pretty strong from America. He's pretty quick on his feet too. This is definitely going to be an intense match. Takamura is struggling a bit but I do see see him getting up there at the end. I wonder if he will win so this should be exciting to see next time. |

| David Eagle was absolutely flawless in this match. That was a perfect example of textbook boxing. He's uses no tricks, no special DBZ attacks, just 100% pure boxing. I'm really loving this fight. In my opinion I think this is better than Takamura's first World Title match. |

| Nice fight so far :D Loved how the whole ep was Takamura's thoughts with no Eagle monologue at all. Made u feel he's totally in control...but the end added some nice revelation that he's fighting for his life out there and Takamura's a monster hehe ^^ Loving the animation a lot. Hope Takamura's hair will be messed up like his fight with Hawk. He looks BA without his usual hair style :D So will he use the look away :P |

| Everytime the focus goes to him the anime evolves a level. I don't think i am able to enjoy hajime no ippo as much as before without takamura. Maybe something was lost. Great episode. |

| Haven't felt much intensity in this fight, but Eagle's boxing is definitely impressive. The psychological damage Takamura's inciting is a nice touch, and next week is probably going to be great. |
| Kinda interesting how Eagle's coaches compare Takamura to Hawk. We were rooting against the evil, irrational street-brawler type boxer and now we gotta root FOR that kind. Kinda clever how shit works out in this anime. |

| eagle's stare is really annoyed takamura. it's like the eagle is very observant and careful while the hawk is getting more pissed and chaos -- finally miyata mentioned about takamura's detached retina. this one's gonna be a prob later in the fight. can't wait to see the next ep. |

| This wasn't bad but I really hope Takamura does something more interesting. In the Hawk fight, he wasn't fighting like an idiot at all, he was calm and calculated but if you just watched this fight you would think he was a complete airhead. |

I wonder if Takamura insists on big punches and swings just to put fear on his opponent. We know that because of coach Takumura has in him the principles of boxing and he could easily go to japs and fast straights etc to get Eagle but he instead throwing full swing hits knowing very well they are easier to avoid despite being more scary. So maybe he just wants to put some psychological damage on Eagle there. |

| I'm actually concerned about detached retinas right now. X( Damn, Takamura's been had, and although he's good at hiding it, Eagle is barely holding it together too! I know that plan, it's a "there's-no-plan-at-all" plan! LOL Or maybe he really does have something in his mind. |

| Excellent fight so far. Reminds me of the Kobashi fight from season 1. Eagle is literally the complete opposite of Hawk with his orthodox, methodical style of boxing. It probably won't reach the same levels of intensity that the Hawk fight did, but this one seems like it'll be much more intelligent and strategical. Interested in seeing what Takamura comes up with |

| I haven't watched the rest of the episode yet, but Miyata mentioned Takamura possibly having a detached retina… that's just not possible. He'd know by now if that were the case. When it comes to detached retinas you need to have surgery ASAP otherwise you will go blind in a matter of weeks if not days. |

| With how Eagle's been egging Takamura on so much throughout the match using his strategies, I didn't expect to see that dodging his opponent's deadly attacks would have him on the verge of shitting his pants. He's poking the bear with a stick and is playing a very dangerous game, that's for sure! |

| usually takamura's matches are SUPEr crazy and such, to see this kind of match is kinda refreshing. the OST work in this episode is kinda summarise up Rising quality, a mix of NC and the original tracks. really loves it. |
| i've never seen another fighter as focused and calm as david eagle. everything about him screams 'gold'. and he's a fair fighter. really the ideal boxer imo. |
