High School DxD (light novel)
How does the second season of Highschool DxD compare to the first season?
| I watched the first season of Highschool DxD a long time ago. I remember it as pretty hilarious and action fun, but that was at the time I liked ecchi anime. Now, I'm more into an intelligent plot or story telling. Or sometimes comedy. Ecchi is not something that ruins it for me, it's just something that I feel I've seen before. Ecchi scenes or not, it doesn't make a different as long as it's a good anime with a compelling story, decent characters or nice artwork. The question is: is the second season better (or as good) as the first? |

| Second season reveal many things, such as some character pasts, demons and god war, etc But the humor still the same |

| For me I would say that season two slightly beat out season 1. |

I didn't care for ecchi much back then, and didn't know much about great plot anime, but now I do, and I can't find joy in "pointless things" anymore. coolh said: Ecchi is not something that ruins it for me, it's just something that I feel I've seen before. For me, it's either because of my new mindset or the fan service really was over-the-top in S2. Like in S1, it seemed like they mixed the plot and fan service in really well, but in S2, it just felt forced, and unnecessary. Don't even get me started with all the comments about boobs and shit...I had to actually bear with a day of marathon-ing this anime, and have probably been assumed as one of those "why are you watching, if you hate it?!" guys, with my hasted(edited) comments lol. Onto the other harem that I need to finish. I wonder if it's still good for my taste. Infinite Stratos 2. And I'm not watching it for boobs or girls lol. I mean, I don't even prefer boobs, but butt xD |

| 1st season was better. I almost cried when Issei threw himself in front of Asia to protect her. It had a better plot. 2nd season was very relaxed in comparison, everyone was fooling around with ecchi scenes and goofing off. |
| The second season was better imo. I enjoyed the fanservice and comedy more. My only complaint was the lack of Koneko. I hope she appears more in the 3rd season. |
