Love Hina Omnibus
| So Funimation is rereleasing Love Hina and I'm not sure if they redubbed it or not. I watched the sneak peak they have up (funimation.com/lovehina) and the only voice over was some narrator. I didn't recognize the actress but I'm not sure if it's someone they got just for the trailer or if it was supposed to be one of the characters, probably Naru. Does anyone know if it was redubbed? Also, why?! Are they doing it because of Negima fandom? I don't understand. I thought Bandai did a wonderful job with it. I suppose it's probably just about money. Damn Funimation... any other theories? |

Damn Funimation... any other theories? Just a re-release. No re-dubbing. Bandai lost the license, with the last release nearly three years ago. So now FUNi wants the money. Plus, they got all the other works adapted from Ken Akamatsu's titles. Any releases that deserve a "Why?" are ADV's re-re-releases with the same prices as previous re-releases. |

| Bandai's license expired, so Funimation thought they'd pick it up and put it back on the market. It wouldn't surprise me if they intended to capitalize on Negima! fandom, and yes it is about money, just like anime in general is intended to be. As Asralys says, there's no re-dubbing; I imagine there would've been a flurry of posts on AoD's "English Track" forum if Funi had re-dubbed it, but nothing like that has happened. Even though I bought the Bandai single discs way back in 2003, I'd re-buy it from Funi if it had a new dub. But as it stands, I'll stick to the Bandai version. However, according to the front-loaded trailer on disc 4 of Ouran HS Host Club, Funi's LH re-release will have new subtitles. Since it's Funimation, I assume that'll mean you can get all your Senpai, Motoko-chan, Naru-san and so forth from the re-release. |

| I rather have eng subs than dubs. Dubs usually have crappy voice actors =S |

| ^^ exactly. If you watch in Japanese, you don't have to bother with these fake "re-releases" which all really follow the same formula: - Hire new voice actors for cheap (which aren't necessarily going to be better) - Market as a re-release ... - Profit |
