| this is lovely.. so organic and genuine love that this is from akari's point of view too, her perspective is really sweet and you can tell just how much she likes Hiroyuki. Coming from all the generic and dull modern rom coms that air these days this feels surprisingly refreshing. |

| I remember picking up a copy of the Animage magazine in the late 90s in Japan Town in San Francisco with Akari and Multi on the cover. Still got it in the closet too. It's always been a goal to watch this for the last 25 years so I'm glad I finally got a chance to see it now. Art quality is fantastic, characters seem good. I can see why it was so popular back then. Kind of surprised at the 6.60 score here since I always heard it was a cultural phenomenon in Japan when it came out. The romance genre is something I usually actively avoid but this seems pretty mellow and nice. I know it's not necessarily a comedy but I was laughing a lot at how much that Hiroyuki guy looks like he just wants nothing more than to jump off the nearest roof. |
