| to the_doctor: well this topic is about the detroit metal city live action. not speed racer or mortal kombat. and some people don't necessarily loath live action, they just prefer the original anime/game, and it doesnt matter how great the live action may or may not be it will never beat the original in some peoples minds. honestly now! |

| i just got back from japan a few days ago and i saw this dvd out everywhere once it had released. (DMC is huge in japan) I would have bought this dvd if it for some reason had english subtitles since i know some japanese but not enough to understand the film at all. I was able to read the language thing on the back well enough to know it didn't have english subs. (heard some jap dvds come out with eng subs) well i really want to see this film since it will probably be hillirious. Also theres a krauser tribute cd that has been released i was tempted to buy until i saw the new album for a different band i was hunting down below and immediately got. I know some of the artists on the tribute album and im sure it would be entertaining. Off-topic but i got some small dmc figurines now (one that you can swing krauser back and forth and make him rape tokyo tower :P) and a krauser mask which is amazing!! |

| The only characters I was disappointed with were Jagi and Camus. Jagi was too much of a suck up/flamboyant/gay. And Camus wasn't vulgar enough. He just went on about bloomers like some kind of retard. |
| The only live action adaptation I saw was Death Note, and it was not at all that bad. But this? I didn't like it at all. I mean, I LOVED the anime, but this live action was so horrible that I couldn't force myself to complete it and watched only a half. These overexaggerated face expressions are disgusting. I know they are trying to make it look like in anime but this is really creepy. Kimo, as they say in Japanese. I didn't watch much live action adaptations, just a bunch of Japanese movies. Please tell me not all live action stuff is like this. And... Is it just me or they did actually cut all of the best moments from the live action? So, does it even worth completing it? |

| *sigh* OK, so I somehow found the chikara to finish the live action. Well, what can I say? The second half was better than the first definitely, and instead of 4/10 I would give it 6.5/10. Not so bad. The Aikawa x Negishi was done quite good, but still I missed all of the best moments from the anime. |

| The movie was surprising quite good. It did go off-course for a bit and were some cheesy parts, but it was very well done compared to other live action adaptations of animes. |
