| Awesomely intense fight so far, perhaps the best of the series at this point? Either this or the Sendo fight, for the best of the series (once again, so far), I think. Volg coming in at a close second. |
| Argh, it feels ominous when even Ippo's teacher comes to watch him. I feel like he's going to lose, but it's such an important match. Though I don't want to see Date stop boxing yet either. Seems like Date has something up his sleeve. Those 3 hits looked like nothing, and Ippo's taken notice. |
| Well, this is a real balanced fight. Not really based on some kind of one-way strategy but more on the lenght. Dis gunna b gud Date was provoking him at the end. He was telling him that even if he hit him with all his strength, he wouldn't fall. |

| This is already turning out to be the best fight in the series so far. No bullshit with Ippo getting destroyed and then pulling a win out of his ass, or his opponent using some cliche gimmick. Just a really strategic fight going at a realistic pace. Date definitely isn't completely serious yet though. I'm guessing he was just gauging Ippo's strength or something and he'll turn it up next round. |

| Impressive fight so far, Date is definitely the strongest opponent Ippo has faced so far, taking on those killerblows from Ippo without showing much damage, no opponent has done that. |

| My first impression of Ippo's fight with Date gave me a good feeling that this would be the best fight in the series so far since he's applying every single experience he had in the ring for this and it definitely shows! The tide of the match went back and forth in such an impressive pace that it made me stay on my toes in anticipation of who'll be the one to go down the mat first. Date's going with the flow of Ippo's punches to minimize the impact and it doesn't look good... |

| The featherweight title battle Date vs Ippo! I enjoyed that little flashback of Ippo's past it shows how he hasn't forgotten where he came from and his sacrifices to get to where he is now. The fight started off fairly even on both grounds. Ippo gets in a nice combo but Date doesn't get knocked down or react though. Let's see where this goes |
