First Chainsaw man and now Solo Leveling, 2 great Manga/Manwha with a high popularity, rating, etc, but after these short seasons both were not as successful as people expected. Do you guys think this is the reason or something else? JJK, Kimetsu, Blue lock, even Shangri-la Frontier started with 24 episodes and at the end they had higher sales. So, Do you think these short seasons of 12 ep are killing the great mangas??.

Calling Chainsaw Man and Solo Leveling great manga is a stretch to begin with. People like them animated with fast-paced action sequences with good soundtrack and amazing animation but on paper they're nothing amazing to read. The story just doesn't hold up without sound and animation.

As an anime only for the mentioned series my perspective on this is quite slim. However I don't think that it's "killing the mangas". Most of that dialogue is coming from the pre-established hyper communities of the material. If anything it's gotten more people to pay attention to the manga/manwha. I know more than a couple people who have started reading CSM and Solo Leveling because of the released anime.

I can't see how either adaptation for Chainsaw Man or Solo Leveling was bad enough to harm the series. Some of the more hardcore fans may be speaking negatively about them but the regular audience is widened because of the anime. Of course most people would've preferred longer seasons but that's just the way it is unfortunately. Chainsaw Man is getting a movie and the Solo Leveling has a 2nd season announced already. As long as the content keeps coming the IP is doing well.

Solo Leveling isn't as popular as expected because quite frankly the plot is average, the characters are average and the overall setting of the world is generic as hell. Just like Chainsaw man, it was overhyped and people having seen it in anime form aren't that impressed overall. It has nothing to do with it being 12 episodes lmao

@phantom346 The fact that CSM was a series that became huge even before the anime was announced says otherwise.

Do you think with 24 ep people would have seen whatever makes these animes different?? or do you think the animes were not good enough to begin with?
