I mean for a shoujo it was pretty good. I know people who hate shoujo/reverse harem anime yet they enjoyed this.

Reverse Harem means girl surrounded by boys, while only Harem is just a boy surrounded by girls. There's no word for "yaoi" nor "yuri" harem as far as I know.

And as for your initial question, there are jokes based on LGTBQ+ themes (such as the twins or how the club characters acts with eachother), but there isn't any serious yaoi theme.

No. There is a recurring joke with two characters that they pretend to be into each other to get girls who are into yaoi interested in them. So there is a tiny bit but as satire.

It's mostly comedy, slice-of-life, and drama.

The main character is a girl but dresses like a guy so it’s kind of yaoi in that sense. Also pretty much every guy in the host club has a gay ship with a clear dynamic. It’s yaoi for sure but not really. There’s no real bl moments there’s a lot of humor for fujoshi

It’s not a BL. Pretty sure Haruhi is nonbinary based on things she’s said though. There’s some queer-baiting and plenty of fanservice for fujoshi and fudanshi, but none of it is actual BL. At the end of the day, it’s a shoujo comedy and has a lot more romance in the manga. And it’s a classic :)

(Also, I saw that people are talking about it being a reverse harem…ngl it doesn’t really feel like one to me)
