This will be mostly my interpretation of why Nozomi picked the world where Nagara and Mizuho would end up in. In the first episode of Sonny Boy there is a small part where Nozomi spots a random bird's feather falling out of the sky of the black abyss. This is the location where Nagara and Mizuho would end up. One important story that is discussed between Nagara and Nozomi is about saving a bird and how in the original world Nagara found it pointless to save the bird while Nozomi did. This was an important distinction to make between Nozomi and Nagara. I think what Nozomi really wanted was to give Nagara a second chance and save the bird to mend the rift between the two characters. Which we get at the end of the show where Nagara and Nozomi see each other and in this timeline Nagara helps save the bird.
