The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (light novel)
| Welcome to the FOURTH consecutive thread of Haruhi discussion regarding the frankly terrible choices by their production committee. Also, Haruhi will be turning 20 this year. Happy Birthday! 2020 2021 2022 2023 (you are here) It's 2023 and last year was barren. Haruhi did a collab with the Hanshin Tigers (if you don't remember they're the baseball team parodied in the Boredom of Haruhi short story) and the school the show was set in was almost shut down due to lack of attendance. That's basically all that was noteworthy relating to Haruhi in current year. Quite depressing if I may say so... why can't Kadokawa just commission a new season? I bet it would rise from the ashes like a phoenix and capture a new generation of fans, right? Right? |

| We got a new novel not too long ago, so the series itself is still very much alive. But I don't have much hopes for another anime adaptation, since the japanese audience wouldn't tolerate the return of Aya Hirano or switching to a new VA |

But even if it was, you fail to take into consideration the crucial fact that japanese culture is not the same as western culture. What is just another day in Hollywood, in japan is pretty despicable. |
