| Canute's change in person is more and more visible, to the po. Someone who previously disliked any form of violence, swords, or war in general now undergoes combat training to gain greater acceptance in the ranks of his men. Although Wulf obviously held back, Canute did better than most of those present thought. Unfortunately, maintaining a personal army isn't exactly cheap, requiring you to recoup the money elsewhere, like taxes. However, increasing taxes would also result in unrest among the citizens, which Canute would like to avoid at all costs after his relatively short reign. This is precisely where wealthier citizens like Ketil come into play. Ketil finally reached his destination and was greeted there by his son Thorgil with the "sad" news that King Harald had passed away. As if that wasn't enough, his dopey son Olmar disappeared to take a walk in the nearby town. Like Ketil, I was equally certain that Olmar would get into some sort of argument. What I didn't expect was the fact that he started a fight with Leif's adopted son, which got Ketil and Leif into a subsequent conversation. It's truly fascinating to me how Leif never gave up hope of finding Thorfinn. With Ketil he now has the chance to see Thorfinn again, which would make me really happy. When Ketil asked Thorgil for an audience with Canute I had a feeling it would happen very quickly as Canute is very interested in his farmland. Olmar is probably the dumbest and most annoying character I've seen in Vinland Saga so far. Not only does he ask Canute in a very disrespectful manner whether he could be included in the personal guard alongside his brother, no, he then embarrasses himself to the core by not being able to split a roasted pig. Unfortunately, his stupidity was so obvious that Canute will now have an easy time using him for his plans. I can't even remotely imagine what an eventual clash between Thorfinn and Canute will be like. I'm really excited to see how all of this will develop. |

| 3/5 A fairly decent episode with very interesting plot developments. Also, Olmar is cornball. I get that he's supposed to be portrayed as such but man it's ANNOYING!!! Canute is barely suited for combat as he tries to impress his soldiers and underlings. He needs to weild a sword yet he hates that he has to. The conflict between various parties is finally brewing and Canute is eager to instigate, as ever Olmar, the annoying really took the stage on the latter half of the episode where he was fumbling left, right & center at every turn, embarrassing his dad & cringing us viewers to death. I hope to god there's a good resolution to his character cuz im already at the brink...but moving on to great things, we get a chance encounter between Kettil & Lief, whose supposed "adopted" son looks just like Thorfinn(kinda, probably was using him for reference). Hopefully, a reunion between them will make for a great scene and im very much looking forward to it. Olmar truly is a massive walking L as he embarrasses his father further and make them a subtle target for land requisition by Canute & his army. I don't know how it's gonna end but that Canute & Thorfinn reunion seems very likely come each episode. Looking forward to the first cour ending next week!!! |

| Haha, that Olmar dude... ;D Scenes with him reminded me of something I'd call as Olmar's Bizarre Adventure. The JoJo energy was strong in this episode. Poor Ketil. Unfortunate timing to visit the monarch was one thing, but his dumb son's behavior has worsened the whole situation even further. Canute will use him for sure as a tool to take over Ketil's farm. |

| Lmao Olmar really took a fat L this time. Looks like Thorfinn's uncle is still actively searching for Thorfinn and is pretty close to finding him. Canute is targeting Ketil's farm and plans on using Olmar in some way. Bro has become so manipulative. |

| That was dirty Canute haha but at least he got em I’m glad that we’re seeing more of Canute. He needs to give his offering to Canute now, now that’s interesting how everything is connecting. Oh my gosh, that’s Ericson’s adopted son!! Please go Ericson, you’ll find the real Thorfinn!! He’s embarrassing the whole family lmao Nooo Canute, not his farm. |

| Canute's plan would lead him to Thorfinn! I can't wait for that to happen. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Canute will become an official villain on Vinland Saga. I enjoyed his character development. |

| That practice match looked good. Excellent animation! Aww, how cute. Wulf has the hots for the cutie Estrid. It's too bad he has no chance. Unless this show deviates from history, Estrid is bound to marry a Russian and English prince, and finally, a jarl named Ulf, unless Wulf is his anime version? BTW, Ulf will be assassinated by the command of Cnut and Estrid—the deadly siblings. I'm looking forward to Leif and Thorfinn meeting again. His determination is admirable. Hopefully, he'll convince him this time to go to Vinland finally. Haha! I feel bad for Ketil. He's such a nice person, and Cnut is about to screw him over. |

| Canute would even go as far as requisitioning a major farm in an attempt to secure more funds all in order to fuel his personal troops in England. All for control. Olmar made the situation worse. He made it obvious what kind of a person he is to Canute, allowing his despicable plan to have an even greater chance of succeeding. I feel Ketil so much, this is an embarrassment of incredible proportion, to a King no less. And even Thorgill is cringed out lol. |
