I always felt that the name of each episodes was parodying something,
i noticed when i finally saw the episode "young man and the sea" clearly a reference to the classic book "the old man and the sea. are there any other parodies i don't know about?

You can probably google a couple of them. Like ep 3. The Cat Who Wore Sandals could be Puss in Boots.

Aliens. Not a parody, but a direct reference. Also Island at the far end of summer could be a reference to Island at the top of the world? The cat who wore sandals might be a reference to The cat who wore sunglasses. The great monkey baseball, The Great monkey trial. The long goodbye is probably another direct reference to The Long goodbye film. Same with two years vacation, a reference to The Jules verne novel of the same name.
