| As much as it is nice seeing Kushida like that, my favorite part of the episode easily has to be when they form the Ayanokoji group. it's just neat seeing these characters do something so normal during all of these thinking games, their conversation was just really nice to sit through. |
| You know, by this point you'd just have to expect and accept the fact that a light novel adaptation is not going to include every single written line in the book- which is especially the case for COTE where they are literally seeming to make it their goal to cut out almost everything but the most crucial points, the bare minimum in order for this plot to even somewhat hold together. But again it's okay, by this point if we're still watching, we should have already come to accept that. But sometimes there are little details that they omit that just make me go UUGHHHGRRHH it would've been SO GOOD IF THEY HAD JUST KEPT THAT IN!!!! sigh. This anime adaption has already established Ayanokouji as far more stone cold and emotionless than in the light novels, so this isn't really that big of an issue in that case. But man, just to keep this small detail in and see even a bit of life in him would've been so riveting to see. And the thing I'm referring to is his reaction after seeing the birthday cake sticker that Karuizawa sent him via text. As per their "agreement", they would delete any and all recordings of any interactions that might've happen between them on their phones to make the possibilities of someone connecting the two together as low as possible (although, spoiler alert, someone's gonna find this connection). And that meant everything, records that they called each other, all of their texts, even if it wasn't planning or anything and simply casual texting. So with this in mind, Ayanokouji goes to delete the birthday cake text- *but hesitates a little first*. Yeah, that was the thing they didn't include which made me a bit upset. Just showing Ayanokouji pausing for a moment before deleting probably the one happy birthday greeting that he ever got in his life (they don't even keep in how Karuizawa found out about the date of his birthday which I thought was low-key kind of sweet as well. Ayanokouji simply realizes that everyone's birthdate is on their school profile or some sh*t like that, and forgot to or just didn't care to make that info private. But the important thing is that Karuizawa knew because of that, and had cared enough to check). Heck they don't even show him deleting it, he just puts the phone down like whatever I guess Am I making too big a deal of this? Yeah most definitely. But it can't hurt to dream; and sometimes I just think of how amazing this adaption would've been if it was put in the hands of people who truly cared for the source material. Maybe in 10 plus years from now we'll get a reboot of the whole thing and it will take the world by storm if anime is still thriving at that time. Anyways, on to the next episode. It's been sad but strangely also kind of fun re-watching this alongside reading the light novels. Am excited as we're now returning to the good stuff. |

| Ok i love this episode! i think this is the best ep so far in this series. I was thinking how they will manage to win against kushida against all odds but somehow horikita outsmarted her without needing ayano's help lmao. great episode! |

| Kushida really thought it was so easy to outsmart them, I'm curious how she wants to outsmart Ayanokouji now even if it doesn't make sense anymore for her to do such a thing. Great ending, I can't wait to see where this fight between those 2 is going to lead and also I can't wait for that scene from the opening where people will come to take Ayanokouji back, these last episodes might be the best so far from both seasons. |
