I think this anime is better than any other slice of life anime, with an entirely different approach to the "life" of a 5 year old girl and a 30 year old man.

There are a lot of "adult takes care of a child" slice of life out there and usagi drop has managed to dig its own comfy little spot, but some others are of comparable quality as well :-)
I'm thinking (for instance) of Sweetness and Lightning which does a great job.

It was very good anime. I'm so glad it did not get 2nd season.

Let me warn you... do NOT read about the ending of the manga. I was scarred after I heard the ending. So I’m actually glad it didn’t get a second season.

I strongly disagree.
The way it showcases marital struggles is toxic af... There's literally like an episode where a wife leaves her shitty husband and then decides to go back because she thinks "Oh I guess I'll just tough it out instead of just leaving uwu lol". Not to mention that

If I'm being honest saying it's the "Best slice of life anime" is very telling that either it's the only one that you've seen or you just easily enjoy everything.

I think he deserves it, but it's a little weird indeed

I love how you imply he/she hasn't done that already.

I agree, I also thought it kinda sucked how whenever there was a woman in the house Daikichi would kind of just sit there and let her take care of Rin lol. Like dude you can be a parent to your own kid. To me it just kind of reinforced the idea that women are by default better parents or something, which is p toxic

I thought a lot of things about this show were pretty depressing tbh. Almost like it was too realistic. Not comfy at all imo, after watching every ep I was left feeling kind of sad for some reason

Also knowing the ending of the manga doesn't help lol

I think Non Non Biyori can be considered as the best Slice Of Life. And Yuru Camp

You should read the manga if you like the anime. Takes things to a whole new level.
