Hero exams plothole?

How did mineta pass the hero exams to get into UA high? He isn’t particularly strong, in fact he’s quiet weak and is very timid. So how did he pass a very selective test when there were probably many better options?

The test only requires you to immobilize the robots and Mineta just trapped the robots using his quirk.

I may not be right on this but wasn’t it about disabling the robots, so all he really had to do was stick them in place, he probably only went for the small ones because that’s all he could handle at the time so he would be able to score some point and it might have just been enough to get in

I remember someone mentioning that in one of the official fan-books, it said that the robots all had a button on the bottom to deactivate them. That’s how students like Hagakure passed

You only need to stop the robots to get points and that what his sticky balls and great at. He was just lucky that the test was made for him:

Yup, absolutely agree with this. So many times throughout the series I’ve thought “how did this character pass the exam?”

There are also students in class B that are clearly stronger than some in A.

Actually if you remember from the series, Mineta is a decently smart character compared to a lot of the other students in his grades. I know he's not a liked character, but I'm sure he was able to take down the robots in the exam.
