Scary? Honestly not much.
Corpse Party was just some low effort of gore shit with dry story to me.

I tried watching it and got bored. From what I saw I didn't find it scary at all, it was just violent for the sake of being violent.

No, I didn't find it scary.

Corpse Party had some nice gory visuals and a pretty decent sounddesign.
The op was really good too in setting the atmosphere and the voice-acting was great as well.

But other that those few things there are not many more positive things to point out.
Mostly because the whole show was rushed to hell.
The game (which this anime is based on) has more than enough content to fill at least a full 12 episode season (~4h) if not even a full 24 episode season (~8h), yet they crammed all of it in 4 OVA's of 30 minutes (~2h).
which leads to all sorts of problems from plot holes over unexplained mysteries to characters changing personalities from one scene to another.
Therefore is looses a lot of it's scaring-potential.

Not scary at all, if anything it's unbearable. I know this is a horror show and probably supposed to be that way, but the characters behave so incredibly stupid that it makes me want to slaughter them myself.

This dance is the pinnacle of human achievement.

eh, not really. I've played the games and they were more scary tbh. (unsettling is probably a better word, though)
