Some questions about Fate/Extra

I still am not sure about the answer I've got from researching since they are kinda different from different sources, so I'll just ask here.

1. What're Fate/Extra, CCC, and Extella?
2. What differs them from the original timeline, Fate/stay night (considering it is said to be alternative timeline)?
3. Is this anime good as a gateway to Fate/Extra (by any meaning, can be enjoyable and not confusing)?
4. If the answer to number 3 is "no, it isn't", then what should I consume first? Any preferences?

4. The "Fate/Extra" game, but it's bad, especially gameplay wise. If you're still interested then you could watch a youtube playthrough instead of playing it for yourself.

Dont watch this show, its a waste of time, its bad. If you have watched most of the fate series( i have watched all of them) this one is the worst, dont waste your time believe me. Average show with a dumb history which doesnt make sense at all, I dont really know what the game is about, but the show utter shit

1.Theyre video games. Extra and CCC are dungeon crawlers. Extra is the original, CCC is a retake on the story, Extella is a sequel to Extra and is a hack n slash game
2.Theres a lot of things that differ. The timelines diverge in the 1970s, when the Moon Cell is discovered. Since the stay night timeline starts in the 90s, that means that timeline wise, there is basically no common elements at all
3. It's a bad place to start. It's a retake on the story that assumes you know the original Extra story
4. The Fate/Extra game, but as another poster mentioned, it's not the best place to start unless you like really rough around the edges dungeoncrawlers,and you have a PSP or emulator handy

The Fate Extraverse is probably my favourite timeline besides the original story, (Extra also has my favourite servant in the series, Nursery Rhyme) but its real rough to get into, and the anime doesn't help. If you don't already know the original Fate/Extra story, this anime will likely confuse and bore you, unfortunately
