Zero first watchers, what are your thoughts on the VN?

Sorry for this being a very obscure and specific question but I was wondering what people who watched Zero first thought of the VN, if you guys have played it. The reason being that where I'm up to at the moment on day 13 of Fate Route there are a lot of plot holes pertaining to Zero (e.g. Saber not remembering the last grail War). I understand the reason for this is most likely as Zero was written later and by a different author but I wanted to see other people's thoughts on this and ascertain (without too many spoilers pls) if there's a very fate-esque convoluted ass explanation for it

Ehh I kinda see it but still I guess they can't just retcon it, I hadn't considered that she didn't wanna talk about it tho so thanks for the input!

I've played the fate route some time ago and i'm almost sure that she doesn't want to talk about it because of kiritsugu and how the last war ended, but she tell about last war to Shirou in some point of the novel, after Gilgamesh shows up i guess. (Sorry for the poor english)

Ahh that's actually quite interesting I might have to pick up the novel at some point to see the differences!
