| From what i’ve heard, Noblesse: Awakening covers around the first 70 chapters of the manhwa, and episode one of the TV series picks up from when awakening left off. I watched episode one of the new series immediately after watching awakening and i’m fairly confident when i say that i understood everything that happened. |

From what i remember, Awakening covers from when Rai is pulled out of the ocean, all the way to when Rai beats the one big guy that was the leader of M-21 and M-24. Episode 1 of the TV series picks up off of that. So to re-iterate, yes, you do need to watch Awakening to understand the TV series. |
