Not sure if I'm crazy, but I find this manga more disturbing and effed up than Berserk

Might be because the Eden features a lot of moments that wouldn't be out of place in reality such as ethnic cleansing and so on.

In all honesty, I don't think I'm wrong. I even think Eden is gorier than Berserk. There's never been a chapter where someone doesn't get their head or limbs ripped off here.

Because Eden pulls no punches. It wasn't afraid to have his main character fail and end up as a drug addict, it also didn't pull a complete tonal shift and decided to turn half of it's main cast into magical lolis/tension destroying comic relief...

This. There's a huge tonal shift in Berserk after the eclipse, and even before that there's clear indications on who the main characters are, their belief systems, and how the plot will transition. With Eden main characters are killed left and right out of the blue, there's never a true antagonist/villain, and nobody has plot armor. Don't get me wrong I love Berserk, but Eden pulls no punches.
