| boogiepop is great ngl but nagi kirima is even better, nagi kirima just being mentioned during a scene makes it a lot better imo, the 2 arcs where kirima was the major key player, both arcs were without doubt 9/10 (rest were 5/10), 1st and the 3rd arc were really good tbh too good for the show nagi kirima truly a charismatic figure u cant possibly overlook ever, boogiepop is great but kirima is in her own league |

| Absolutely agreed, but they probably won't even make a sequel. You can forget about any spinoff series. |
| There is a lot more source material. 22 Boogiepop light novels in total, plus short stories. There are some serialized novels set in the same universe, though I don't know who's in them or what they're about. Only the first 6 LNs were translated into English. There is also a 2 volume manga called "Boogiepop Dual: Loser's Circus" which was translated into English, and it doesn't look to be based on any of the novels. BUT this anime wasn't a megahit or anything, so we've probably seen the last of Boogiepop and Nagi for 10 more years. This series was a "20th anniversary of Boogiepop" thing. Enseiii said: hahaah great stuff, stealing this i am sorry I got the meme from r/animemes. There are only a handful of Boogiepop memes there and most are just her with smug Hat Kid. Practically no one watched this show, or it isn't that memeable. The first 3 eps were kind of a mess, and so it lost most of the 3 episode rule crowd. It's not as disturbing and scary as the old Boogiepop show, and Boogiepop herself just kind of shows up and doesn't do anything. Tbh, some of her speeches in the first ep were kinda cringey. Boogiepop 2019 isn't that edgy, memeable (except the Hat Kid thing), or infamous. Add in a goofy name and it goes by unnoticed, like Boogiepop herself. |
