Another somber chapter, as the heroes discover that the people in Shikoku truly are the only survivors of the Vertex attack. Probably the darkest chapter so far.

The journal and explanation of the pile of corpses was really sad to read through. I think it's very realistic depiction of what would happen in such a scenario. The poor girl (presumably) who the journal suffered much and just ended up dying.

And when they finally reach Suwa City and Shiratori, it's all destroyed and everyone is dead. Poor Wakaba never got the chance to meet her friend. The letter was heart breaking to read.

And how they have to rush back home, for another attack in on the horizon.
