| This was a pretty chill episode actually Its nice that Rei's teacher is doing so much to help him pass this year though. The after school burner club though sounds fishy turns out to be a pretty nice bunch of people and it was nice to see them help Rei out. Its also nice that Rei has finally awakened up to the fact that he has plenty of friends that are always there to help and support them especially Akari and her family. Seeing Rei finally look to the future and take the first step to improve himself was nice to see. Joining the workshop that was run by Shimada is a good first step. So the match between Shimada and Goto was won in the end by Shimada eh. No surprise there as he has great skill at Shogi as shown in his match with Rei. His match against the champion should be interesting to see. The workshop though was interesting especially in the review of the first match. Rei only made the argument worst by criticizing both lol But watching them all have such a lively discussion about tactics though is interesting and to think that Rei and Nikaido were still arguing after the match though. The final part of the episode where they were worrying about the bird was pretty funny though. |

| I want to see Momo, for more time and not just in some scenes. The episode, if revealed to be important to the growth of Rei's character and to know better about Shimada's character, I am happy with the narration. |

| Happy that Shimada won. I'm so glad that Rei participates in the club. Seeing him bickering with Nikaidou and then looking up info for ducks was so sweet |

| Get fucked Gotou. So nice to see you lose. Will we finally get to see how good Souya is? Also, Kiriyama is finally making friends! It only took him 16 episodes! As someone who was (self-diagnosed) socially inept around Kiryama's age (hell, I'm still not much older than he is), it's really nice to see him grow so much in such a short period of time. I hope he joins that after-school club, although I'm not sure if he would have enough time to participate actively given his shogi life. The workshop was fun to see too, with Nikaidou, Kiriyama, and Morio going at one another's throats. I wasn't expecting to hear Atomic Samurai Kenjirou Tsuda! I think it's wonderful to see Kiriyama going from someone who willingly shut himself in from society to someone running around trying to identify birds with arguably his best friend. |
| Yet another fantastico episode. Rei is opening up, it's sooooo nice to root for him.. but the real underdog in all of this is Shimada, I swear, he's so boss! He's not popular like Gotou, probably not that rich either, not much charisma, he's like your average joe side character in anime but he managed to come up with the dub after multiple grueling matches, he deserves all the respect. He's awesome! I am sure he's got history with the meijin, Souya too, excited for that backstory! |

| One of the best eps. Kind of sad that I'm bot familiar with Shogi but Rei's teacher is such a good person, I was moved by his lecture. It was also refreshing to see Rei argues with Nikaido, they became really friends. I really like Shimada. |

| People saying the second half was weak... No way in hell! I love seeing Kiriyama being a normal person and developing outside of Shogi, and that second half showed us just that. He's more lively, he's more expressive than in the beginning, and he's interacting a lot more with other people. Plus... I love Nikaidou! |

| Lovely seeing Rei make make more friends; he should be able to take care of himself better starting now. He should also be able to do better at shogi now that he's discussing it with other people. Duck scene came out of nowhere though lol. Also, I'm SO glad Shimada won. |

| the game genre in this anime is rather pale compare to hikaru no go lol never the less, this anime just keep surprising me. loved how kiriyama is getting more and more "sociable". lol at the end with the duck xD |

| Loved this episode, the afterburner club was hilarious, love the teacher, love Shimada. The bird part was pretty out of the blue but it was a funny way to end the episode and it left a smile on my face. Can't wait to watch the next one! |
| Man ... Shout out to the sensei in the begenning hopefully that makes Kiriyama want to go with the sisters more often .... And lol this was funny episode glad to see Kiriyama be more social and see him smile a bit more. He deserves it. |
