Hi guys, I've got a question for y'all in the matter of the whole LN thing. So basicly I'd like to start from the beginning since I'd like to literally fill the gap between anime and LN.

1. Does Progressive volumes contain a lot of game mechanics, relationship and in which moment should I read 'em?
2. I heard the LN focuses on the mental health of the players mostly so besides of this, is there any explanation of the purpose of creating SAO?

Progressive volumes are basically just extra stories from each floors of Aincrad.

Otherwise the the animes is almost no different at all from the main light novel series. Very very little was ever adapted differently in the animes.

Progressive isn't just a bunch of extra stories, it's more of a reboot.
