| After watching this, I honestly feel like Prisma Illya might actually be a good place to start watching the Fate series for some people. Now of course for most people this would be a terrible place to start, but for anyone that is a really big fan of Mahou Shoujo anime in general that wants to get into Fate, I would possibly point them to start here. It gives a very nice, mild introduction to some elements of Fate while being in very familiar territory for them. And honestly, Prisma Illya's story is strong enough to stand on it's own relatively well, nor does it really spoil much of Stay Night or Zero, at least not the first season. Of course the overall feel and themes of Prisma Illya vs the rest of the Fate series is very different, but it could serve as a good middle ground for someone that's on the fence about it. So long as they understand and are fine with the fact that Prisma Illya is very different from everything else, I don't see much reason why not to have certain select people start here. |

| Unpopular opinion here: I agree with Mystifire...up to a point. Having finished season 1, the end began to feel too fan-service-y and not enough action. It's starting to feel like a slice-of-life anime. Luckily, I'm a mahou shoujo fan, so this doesn't bother me much. Others may quickly be turned off and potentially avoid the Fate series in general. This anime actually had the opposite effect on me, because I'd seen Fate/stay night and was well aware that Fate/kaleid liner was a spin-off. |

You are basically arguing the idea that to introduce someone into the fate series they would have to watch a magical girl show before getting to shows like fate/stay night 2015 or fate/zero a different concept to the franchise in general.  |

| I want to reiterate the fact that I said it would be a good place to start for some people, but for most it would be a horrible. Basically for people who are big fans of magical girl anime in general and not as much a fan of the gritty action type series, but want to consider getting into them. It introduces many of the basic concepts of Fate without any obvious major spoilers in a package much more friendly for those kinds of people. Obviously if someone is curious about getting into Fate in general then no this is an awful way to begin, but if that's honestly what I think I meant then you clearly didn't read what I initially said... |
